Date Posted: 16:38:47 05/20/09 Wed ** All about Gemini Gemini is the most lighthearted sign in the zodiac, hands down. The Twins' circle of acquaintances is as varied as their interests, so they see an awful lot of invitations. Of all the reasons we love to have our Gemini pals around, their wit comes first. These folks find humor in absolutely everything, and their ability to say what's on their minds in an extremely entertaining fashion is world-famous and well deserved. These word-wizards and storytellers are able to uncannily impersonate anyone and anything at the drop of a hat. That includes accents, gestures and subtle idiosyncrasies that no one else would ever notice -- but then, if Gemini were a business, its motto would be 'Details-R-Us.' True to the nature of its ruling planet, Mercury, Gemini is also quite communicative. So during those rare times when these talkative Twins are actually alone and not chatting on the phone, IMing with a friend or answering their voluminous email, they're probably on the phone or the Internet, or poking away at their Blackberries with a vengeance. If not, Geminis will manage to keep those restless minds active by doodling or solving puzzles and word games. As for the dualities this sign is famous for? They're all true. In reality, there are a lot more than just two sides to the average Gemini, and each facet of this versatile sign has a fascinating story to tell. All that being said, it's easy to see that the one thing they just can't stand is being bored, tied down or isolated. 'Variety is the spice of life' is this sign's very own motto, and Gemini lives every second with that motto in mind. So if you're a Gemini yourself, you know this all boils down to the fact that you can't stand being in a rut -- especially when it comes to relationships. Your sign has been called fickle more than once, but that's not fair. The Twins are perfectly capable of being faithful, as long as the person they're with is witty and interesting enough to keep them interested. No, it's not an easy task, but it's well worth it. Life with a Gemini is full of constant activity, endless movement and even more fun. And you can bet they won't scatter their affections if they can find someone who'll be willing to at least try to keep up. Gemini, whether you're a friend or a lover, you're one of the main reasons life on this planet can be fun for the rest of us -- so accept our thanks for just being you. ** Your Starcast for May 20 to June 19 It's time to expand your social circle as the Sun enters communicative Gemini on May 20. There is an amazing and interesting world out there -- get involved! A new Moon in Gemini on May 24 emphasizes the importance of stimulating your mind. The cosmos is encouraging you to sign up for a class, just be sure to double-check the dates since Mercury is still retrograde. Jupiter's conjunction with Neptune on May 27 magnifies spiritual and humanitarian yearnings especially with Neptune turning retrograde the following day. Give your idealism full reign for fabulous results. Mercury finally turns direct on May 30 in sensible Taurus, urging you to move forward with those great ideas and plans. Mars' entrance into Taurus on the 31st gives you grounded get-down-to-business energy. You'll get a reality check as the Sun squares Saturn on June 5. Then Venus joins Mercury and Mars in practical Taurus, helping you to get a solid financial plan in place. The full Moon in Sagittarius on June 7 brings a culmination to what you began at the new Moon on May 24. This is a great time to explore new ideas and move beyond the familiar. 'Mercury-Week' commences with Mercury making multiple aspects, which means you'll be busy, busy, busy! First, Mercury sextiles Uranus on June 9, stimulating your mind and giving you plenty of ideas. Then Mercury squares Neptune on June 9 and your imagination is in full bloom, although your logical mind is not as operational. Mercury's square to Jupiter on the 10th brings lots of ideas and multiple conversations. Mercury enters its home sign Gemini on June 13 when it's time to gather information that'll help you down the road. Cast a wide net. When Jupiter turns retrograde on June 15, some of your activities will grind to a halt and you will need to choose where you want to invest your energy. Then, on June 17, the Sun trines Neptune, squares Uranus, and trines Jupiter and your world opens up in beautiful and surprising ways. May 20: Sun enters Gemini Gemini is often called 'The Data Collector.' This breezy air sign is curious about everything! Each year, as the Sun transits Gemini, information, news and interesting conversations prompt you to open your mind to new ways of thinking. Air signs are quite social, making this a great time to meet new people and expand your social circle. May 24: New Moon in Gemini A new beginning in an information-loaded sign puts you on an educational path. Think of something that will wake up and fire-up your brain synapses. Whether you join a book club, sign up for an Italian cooking class or learn how to make stain-glass windows, don't concern yourself with what is useful! Think instead about what is fun, fulfilling or intellectually enriching. The new Moon is always a time of new beginnings and in this premiere education sign, starting any program of study will yield fabulous results. This new Moon will most affect those born May 22-26, August 25-29, November 16-20 and February 20-24. May 27: Jupiter conjunct Neptune Jupiter takes 12 years to travel through all 12 zodiac signs, one year for each sign, so this conjunction hasn't occurred for quite a while, the last being in Capricorn in December of 1996. This time the conjunction is in independent Aquarius. This is a highly idealistic, future-oriented combo that is likely to bring new inventions, a movement toward a global community and a spiritual blossoming for many. When these two planets meet, they also seem to be a bit flood-prone, so take sensible precautions. This is the first of three conjunctions. May 28: Neptune turns retrograde Neptune has been transiting through Aquarius since 1998, a sign that represents the quest for a better life, for freedom, equality, peace and contentment. Because it takes Neptune about 14 years to transit through one sign, this retrograde has been occurring once a year in the same area of your birth chart, giving you the opportunity to review how you invest in your dreams, and how to establish a solid foundation for your life achievements. Aquarius is a sign that rules the group, the community, the larger world. Every time you align your desires with those of others, you move yourself forward and your life opens up. This retrograde period will last until November 4. May 30: Mercury turns direct Had enough with the glitches? As Mercury ends its retrograde in earthy Taurus, it's time to incorporate everything you've learned since May 6 when Mercury turned retrograde in curious Gemini. Communication becomes easier and less confusing, and you find it easier to make a decision. Hopefully you used the retrograde time well, conducted a proper review, and become better informed about your options. Sign those contracts, send out your resume or pick up the phone! It's time to communicate all of those great ideas and put your plans in motion! May 31: Mars enters Taurus Life settles down a bit as Mars leaves its own sign, fiery Aries, and enters steady Taurus. This is a grounded get-down-to-business placement that can help put you on the path to a materially secure future. Sort through your business and personal expenditures, and use the determination of Taurus to solidify your material world. Mercury turning direct yesterday will help you move forward with everything you have learned over the past three weeks. June 5: Sun square Saturn Saturn, when it aspects a planet or the Sun and Moon, is like a parent that gives you a reality check so that you can assess your situation. Your responsibilities are highlighted now and, with this square, you're challenged to weed out superfluous activities and impractical plans and ideas. The Sun's placement in Gemini can indicate that you are being pulled in too many directions and have too many interests. Saturn says: pare them down into something that is useful and practical. June 6: Venus enters Taurus Finally this relationship planet enters a new sign for the first time in approximately four months! Because Venus turned retrograde and set-up camp in active, bold Aries for so long, you may feel a bit disoriented as Venus enters her home sign, Taurus. Now it's time to turn your attention to your financial life and the material nuts-and-bolts aspects of your relationships. This is a great transit to make a plan with your partner, your child or your accountant about how you spend or save your money. June 7: Full Moon in Sagittarius A full Moon in Sagittarius occurs when the Sun is in Gemini. These are both signs of travel, ideas, beliefs and education -- making this a restless Moon, physically and mentally. This is a great time to explore and move beyond what you already know. Expand your understanding and your sphere to make the most of this time. Curious and optimistic, this full Moon yearns for something new and different. Make sure though, with serious Saturn forming a T-square to this Moon, that you incorporate practicality when making plans. All full Moons signal periods of heightened emotions, and mark a culmination of the plans set in motion during the previous new Moon, which occurred on May 24. This full Moon will most affect those born June 5-9, September 8-12, December 7-11 and March 6-10. June 9: Mercury sextile Uranus Your mind speeds up with Mercury's contact with electrical Uranus. You may need to write down everything you're thinking so you don't forget those brilliant insights that are coming fast and furious! New ideas, conversation, agreements and plans provide exciting opportunities. You may even receive an out-of-the-blue phone call or email that connects you with people who can help you reach your goals. June 9: Mercury square Neptune When the planet of communication meets dreamy Neptune, your thinking is inspired yet impractical. Famous for misunderstandings, this challenging square reminds you of the importance of not assuming anything! Double check your facts before you get involved in a muddy, circular conversation. Pay attention to the details and you'll be fine. June 10: Mercury square Jupiter When Mercury squares Jupiter, there's a tendency to think big, and even to overcommit. But it's also an aspect that highlights misunderstandings. Sometimes what we say or even think is not in alignment with our beliefs. This is one of those times when you become aware of this discrepancy in yourself and others. June 13: Mercury enters Gemini You have a message to communicate and now is the time to do it! Mercury's entrance into its own sign brings information, interesting conversations, new news, deal-making and the possibility of signing contracts that benefit you. Cast a wide net. Clip favorite articles from magazines and bookmark your favorite sites. Make sure you get your beauty-rest so that you don't end up frazzled by month's end! Minimize distractions when possible so you can hone in on the ideas and contacts that are the most important to you. June 15: Jupiter turns retrograde Since Jupiter entered community-minded Aquarius last January 5, you have been expanding your sphere of influence and paying more attention to the larger world. Perhaps you have joined a group, made new friends or started participating more in your community. Now Jupiter turns retrograde for the first time in Aquarius, giving you a chance to review your decisions. Momentum is slowed during this retrograde period, which will last until October 12. However, do not worry about plans and projects that are delayed. This is an important cycle where, in the end, whatever was held back will turn out to be a blessing in disguise. In general, this is a time of cutting back and curtailing excesses. Look to see where Jupiter is transiting in your own chart to see how you can benefit from this review. June 17: Sun trines Neptune, Sun squares Uranus, Sun trines Jupiter What inspires you? With Jupiter and Neptune conjunct, the Gemini Sun trines both expansive Jupiter and spiritual Neptune catapulting your idealism to new heights. Your desire to give and make a difference is strong. The Sun also squares Uranus today. Every now and then, the universe seems to want to make sure we are staying awake! As the Sun in information-gathering Gemini meets the square from gotta-have-change Uranus, expect the unexpected to jolt you out of your everyday routines. Enjoy the Sun's transit in Gemini! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** Astrolesson: The Houses Astrologers have a saying to help students make the distinction between the planets, signs and houses: 'The planets are the actors; the signs are the costumes; the houses are the stage.' It's an easy way to think about these as you mix and match planets, signs and houses. In this lesson, we will explore the houses (stages) where the action in your life takes place. The wheel of the chart is divided into 12 pie-shaped wedges with each house (or pie shape) being assigned a number. Each of the houses represents a certain area of life. For example, the Second House in any chart shows not only what you value, but also has a lot to say about your income as well as your approach to making money and improving the material conditions of your life. Pluto's placement here indicates an individual who equates money with power. Expansive Jupiter in the second house may be beneficial when it comes to making money yet also indicates someone who has no trouble spending it! If Neptune is here, your spiritual values will be important but you may also have trouble asking for a raise or determining the value of your services. Staying with this example with the planet being the actor, the sign the costume, and the house the stage, let's place one of the planet-actors in a sign or costume. Rowdy Mars in the Second House brings plenty of energy and initiative. This is like having a warrior ready to make you money! If Mars is in communicative Gemini, then Mars will want to make that money through communication of some kind. Can you see that this would be a great placement for a salesperson or teacher? Someone who uses words to make money is a very natural use of this placement. It means the individual would have a talent to sell or educate. Astrology can be so helpful when people are looking for areas to invest themselves and their talents. Houses show the 'theater of operation' where planets want to express. So next time you are wondering where you or someone you know could benefit and make life easier, look to the houses! [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
