June 21: The Sun Enters Cancer

The crab, Cancer's animal, is a fitting symbol for a sign that rules home, hearth and family! Just as this little creature carries its home wherever it goes, the Sun's transit through this homebody sign reminds us of the importance of spending time in familiar environments with those we cherish. If loved ones are far away, this is a perfect time to write a heartfelt letter and remind them of the special place they hold in your heart. The Summer Solstice is marked by the entrance of the Sun into Cancer, opening doors and your heart to a new journey where your emotional life and compassion for yourself and others play a leading role!

According to most Sun sign guides, Cancers are famous for one thing: their love of home and family. In fact, they're often portrayed as being fond of nothing else ... although this tends to be a nearsighted description. While it's true that Cancers have an innate loyalty toward their roots -- especially toward the people and places who have shaped their memories -- there's a lot more to them than simply where they came from. They're also concerned with where they're going, and with finding the safest way to get there. So when dear ones are involved, a Cancer will spare nothing to ensure they're not exposed to dangers on any level. They can even be a bit too protective at times, so much so that they need to be careful of a tendency to overdo it!

The one trait that's not usually mentioned under Cancer's list of qualities, however, is the one most important to them: privacy. Their symbol is the crab, after all -- a creature so fond of its own world that it carries a shell on its back, into which it may retreat at any time!

When it comes to relationships, there's absolutely nothing Cancers won't do for a loved one. They're capable of very deep feelings and, especially in romantic relationships, this can often mean they're easy prey. As a means of self-protection, they need to be careful in matters of the heart.

As parents, Cancers offer an endless supply of nurturing, even if it's aimed toward animals, plants or even other people's kids. These folks certainly have a knack for taking good care of anyone or anything that needs them.

In short, Cancers make the world a better, kinder place.

** Your Starcast for June 21 - July 22

June 21: The Sun enters Cancer and squares Uranus
Each year the Sun enters security-focused Cancer, marking the Summer Solstice. The Sun's transit through this homebody sign reminds us of the importance of spending time in familiar environments with those we cherish. But before you head to the card store or get visions of family members cozily sitting around the fireplace or breakfast table, keep the following in mind: The Sun's immediate square to Uranus is all about change! This aspect will shake you out of your ruts, so don't suppress your naturally healthy desire for change. It will lead you in new and interesting directions!

June 23: The Sun squares Jupiter
June 25: The Sun opposes Pluto
These days, the social climate is all about quick action, pioneering ideas and bold creative ideas. It's enough to give a Cancer Crab agita! But don't hide your head in the sand. Tend to your security needs while also being open to a plan of action. The Sun's opposition to Pluto represents forces that have already been set in motion. Assess the balance between your personal family themes and those of your worldly and career concerns. You may be asked to step up. If you know which houses this opposition straddles in your own chart, apply these themes to those areas of your life.

June 25: Mercury enters Cancer
As Mercury follows the Sun into Cancer, this communication planet forms the same dynamic and contentious aspects as the Sun. Expect your ideas to be challenged. Your conversations will be spirited, but your thoughts tend to be colored by feelings -- and everybody will communicate much more emotionally than usual. Keep your heart open, but bring some logic into the mix if you have something important to say.

June 26: Lunar eclipse in Capricorn
Lunar eclipses are like an extra-intense full Moon -- a time known for amped-up emotions. The difficult aspect patterns this week are present during the eclipse, which almost guarantees plenty of breaking news. Capricorn is the sign of responsibility and authority, and this is where the Moon now conjuncts Pluto. The Sun and Mercury are in Cancer, a sign that rules the family and your tribe (as in country or community). First, get a sense of what you want to be responsible for, and what you don't. You can make the most of this time by striking a healthy balance between the personal and professional areas of your life.

June 27: Saturn quincunxes Neptune
This is the third quincunx between these two planets in this series. (The first occurred on May 2, 2009; the second on September 12, 2009.) During this time, fantasies and unrealistic plans have become clear, and hopefully by this point, you're not investing in them. This aspect reminds you of the importance in making appropriate adjustments to your long-term planning, as the environment changes and new information becomes available.

June 28: Mercury conjuncts the Sun
This past April, retrograde Mercury formed a conjunction with the Sun. At that time, you received information you were unable to put to good use ... but hopefully you still used that time to gather information. These two come together again, making a perfect time to reap the benefits of all your conversations and ideas over the last couple of months. You have new plans, and now you get the go-ahead to do something with them!

June 30: Mercury conjuncts the south node
Keep your ears and eyes open as new information from the past becomes available. The trick with this aspect is to act upon your new knowledge without losing sight of the big picture. Otherwise, as the saying goes, the tail wags the dog!

July 1: Mercury sextiles Mars
This aspect describes an animated conversation. If you can prevent yourself from investing in old ideas that didn't work before -- and won't work now -- you'll be able to sell people on your new, forward-looking ideas. Pay attention to the details so you're prepared for any questions that come your way, and let your words carry the importance of what you want to say.

July 3: The Sun conjuncts the south node
Seek out mama-bear types as a security- and family-focused Cancer Sun joins the south node. As you come under the umbrella of her protection, just make sure all that nurturing and protection doesn't make you lazy. Do what you can to help yourself and others!

July 5: Uranus turns retrograde
Astrologers have a saying when Uranus changes direction: Expect the unexpected! This is the first time this eccentric planet has turned retrograde since entering fiery Aries on May 27. Over the next several months -- until December 5 when Uranus turns direct -- review the areas of your life that need a bit of tweaking. It's time to refresh and renew! Leave old ideas, routines and schedules behind. The more comfortable you are with the concept of change in general, the more you'll be able to utilize this dynamic energy.

July 9: Mercury enters Leo
Have something to say? So does everybody else! The communication planet in this bold fire sign wants you to pay attention. Dramatic announcements are common during this transit, and some people may compete for attention. Nobody wants to play second fiddle, and issues of how everyone is treated take on extra importance now. To make the most of this transit, just make sure you give the same respect you want to receive.

July 10: Venus enters Virgo
When Venus, the planet of love, enters this practical and analytical sign, it's time to tangibly improve your relationships. Are you helpful to your partner? Are you a working team? Do you make time for each other? Whether you need to get a date night into your weekly schedule or set aside a weekend to clear out the garage, be sure to focus on making your day-to-day life together run smoothly and efficiently. When you think about it, making life easier for the person you care about is such a loving thing to do!

July 11: Solar eclipse in Cancer
Eclipses herald a time of big messages, so expect bold headlines and plenty of breaking news. We use the word "eclipse" when something dramatic occurs that takes our attention away from something else. If you know where in your own chart the eclipse takes place (and which planets are contacted, if any), you'll have more information about an important area of your life -- one that will captivate your focus. Since all solar eclipses occur at a new Moon, this marks a dramatic beginning for you. In Cancer, the sign of home and family, nurturing those you love takes top priority, so make your favorite comfort food or plan a family picnic!

July 13: Venus quincunx Jupiter
Your love life needs a bit of tweaking as the relationship planet receives a bold message from big-idea Jupiter. While Venus in Virgo is somewhat reserved, Jupiter in Aries is anything but! It may be time to break out of your shell and give something new a try. The old ways just don't work like they used to!

July 13: Venus trine Pluto
Venus's entrance into practical Virgo last week now receives support from Pluto in grounded Capricorn. You may know what you want, who you want and how you want to be loved. Now it's time to transform your relationships to establish a deeper connection. Are you single? Write down what your heart wants. If you can dream it, you can have it! Start with a positive attitude and a loving heart.

July 21: Saturn re-enters Libra
Saturn entered Libra last year on October 29, and your attention shifted from work and health themes (Virgo) to relationships (Libra). On April 7 of this year, retrograde Saturn re-entered Virgo, and once again your work conditions and health issues needed more of your attention and consideration. On May 30, Saturn turned direct in this order-loving sign, and it was time to get your projects and plans ready to move forward. Now this taskmaster planet finally returns to relationship-oriented Libra. Whether you are married, seriously committed or single, you are now prompted to take your relationships more seriously than you have for awhile.

July 22: The Sun enters Leo
Do you orbit around somebody or something else? Or are you at the center of your own solar system? As the Sun enters its own sign, it's time for you to shine as brightly as it does! Increase your self-confidence by investing in fun projects that show off your talents. Most of all, be sure during this transit to embody the three top Leo qualities: self-respect, creativity and strength. Whether you exude the dignified presence of Leo Robert Redford or the more showy style of Madonna, now is the time to stop hiding in the wings and step into your own personal spotlight.

Enjoy the Sun's transit through Cancer.

** Astrolesson: Your Moon Sign

Just as you have a Sun sign, you also have a Moon sign. And just like the old saying, "The man in the Moon watches over us,' the position of the Moon at the time of your birth -- and the sign it occupies -- has something to say about your own personal "protector."

Your Moon sign colors your emotional temperament and shows what makes you feel safe and secure. It explains what brings contentment, as well as the quickest and most effective way to relieve anxiety.

What makes you feel most comfortable? What feels emotionally soothing? Your Moon sign tells you the best way to look after and protect yourself. Here are a few examples ...

When philosopher Joseph Campbell said "follow your bliss," he could have been talking to someone with a Pisces Moon. Comfort is tied to peace and quiet, a sanctuary, a place to be alone with your muse. If you were born with this Moon sign, take care of yourself by seeking something that's transcendental and outside the mundane. You make it hard for yourself to be inspired if you experience disruptions, chaos or ongoing unpleasantness in your day-to-day environment.

If your Moon sign is in Gemini, the data collector, make sure you have all the information you need, for this will bring emotional ease. You are likely to feel anxious if you feel as if people are withholding information.

And if your Moon sign is in intense Scorpio, it's important for you to express the depth of your feelings. Always make sure you have a best friend or mate that understands this about you. Don't bottle up your feelings or you may find that you also end up squashing your passion!

The house placement of the Moon shows where you feel most comfortable. Is your emotional comfort zone in the Seventh house of relationships? If so, carving out a life as a loner is not for you! You will need to make finding and creating healthy relationships a priority. Alternately, a Moon in the Tenth house shows that you find contentment through a career that makes full use of your skills and talents, so pursue a vocation that feeds your soul.

If you know your birth chart, think of activities and environments that support your Moon sign placement. Do this and you will give yourself the gift of emotional contentment!

Four winds blowing through the sky,
you have seen many of us die,

Tell me then what I shall do to save the few that are true.

Said the North Wind - All witches stand your ground and protect all around. Protect yourself from any harm. Ground and center yourself so you will always have strength and power. Never forget that you have the Gift.

Said the East Wind - Set forth the feast as there is a lot to defeat. Send back negativity and bring back positivity. Circle around to protect all that is around us, By the circle of 3 we will not be beat.

Said the South Wind - Air, Earth, Fire, and Water, with your will and my might protect Witches so no one is killed and or harmed. Remember those that have pasted and learn from your ancestory past.

Said the West Wind - Herbs, candles, rocks, and trees, send spells and blessings to those in need. Have a heart but be smart. Do harm to none. Only when one sees who we truely are, what we do, and what we go through,...
Then can one be true to thee?

Dear Good people,
I finally have some good news and some resolution. I was able to get my inheritance and put some of it on a 2007 malibu with 20,000 miles. It is a great relief to have this resolved. Now I am focusing on getting my "boo" everything he needs and getting me a good state job. Wish me luck.

I hope everyone is doing well.
Take Care,

** All About Gemini

Gemini is the most lighthearted sign in the zodiac, hands down. The Twins' circle of acquaintances is as varied as their interests, so they see an awful lot of invitations. Of all the reasons we love to have our Gemini pals around, their wit comes first. These folks find humor in absolutely everything, and their ability to say what's on their minds -- in extremely entertaining fashion -- is world-famous and well deserved. These word-wizards and storytellers are able to uncannily impersonate anyone and anything at the drop of a hat, including accents, gestures and subtle idiosyncrasies no one else would ever notice. But then, if Gemini were a business, its name would likely be Details-R-Us!

True to the nature of its ruling planet, Mercury, Gemini is also quite communicative. So during those rare times when these talkative Twins aren't chatting on the phone, IM'ing with a friend or answering their voluminous email, they're probably keeping their restless minds active by doodling or solving a puzzle or word game!

As for the dualities this sign is famous for? They're all true. In reality, there are a lot more than just two sides to the average Gemini, and each facet of this versatile sign has a fascinating story to tell. All that being said, it's easy to see that the one thing they just can't stand is being bored, tied down or isolated. 'Variety is the spice of life' is this sign's very own motto, and Gemini lives every second with it in mind.

So if you're a Gemini yourself, you know this all boils down to the fact that you can't stand being in a rut -- especially when it comes to relationships. Your sign has been called fickle more than once, but that's not fair. The Twins are perfectly capable of being faithful, as long as the person they're with is witty and interesting enough to keep them interested. No, it's not an easy task, but it's well worth it.

Life with a Gemini is full of constant activity, endless movement and fun! And you can bet they won't scatter their affections if they find someone willing to at least try to keep up. Gemini, whether you're a friend or a lover, you're one of the main reasons life on this planet can be fun for the rest of us!
=====================================================

May 27: Uranus enters Aries
It's huge news when Uranus (known as the Awakener) enters a new sign, since it occurs only once every seven years. So are you ready for something new and different? Independence, change, inventiveness and pioneering breakthroughs mark this period. Since you live in a changing world, it's time for you to change right along with it. Don't even think of hitting the cosmic snooze alarm!

May 30: Saturn turns direct
On April 7, retrograde Saturn returned to Virgo for one last health review, offering you an opportunity for you to ensure your day-to-day schedule adds to -- rather than detracts from -- your well-being. Hopefully, you have used this period well. Have you streamlined your routines and schedules? Have you structured a good workout routine? Have you rewritten your resume? Now Saturn turns direct in this order-loving sign, and it's time to get your projects and plans ready to move forward. But don't rush anything, as Saturn is slow during this turnaround time. You will reap plenty of rewards down the road if you build slowly and thoroughly.

May 31: Neptune turns retrograde
Because Neptune takes about 14 years to transit through one sign, this slow-moving planet has been moving forward and retrograding in the same section of your chart since 1998 -- a long time to highlight a particular message and area of your life! Its placement in community-oriented and forward-thinking Aquarius represents the quest for a better life, freedom and equality. You now have an opportunity to thoughtfully review how you invest in your hopes and dreams, and how to establish a foundation for your life's achievements. Because Neptune represents larger collective trends, help yourself by aligning your desires and personal ideals with those of others.

June 4: Mars opposite Neptune
Mars is the action planet, while Neptune represents unity -- as in the "we are all one" principle. So, as you pursue your own plans, be sure to keep the bigger picture in mind! Without these two in balance, there's a tendency to feel undermined or confused about how to go after your goals. You may want something that's opposed or undermined by others. Do you need to assess who you're spending time with? There's a difference between sacrificing your needs and being inclusive of desires, both yours and those of others. The main thing to remember is to be considerate. Think of it this way: Sooner or later, the wave (you) will merge with the ocean (them). So, be a good surfer!

June 6 (PDT) / June 7 (EDT): Jupiter enters Aries
Jupiter takes 12 years to travel through the each sign of the zodiac, spending one year in each sign. The last time Jupiter entered Aries was in 1999, so it's been a while! The expansive energy of Jupiter fuels the activity and passion of this pioneering sign. This theme is electrified by Uranus' recent entrance into Aries, which occurred on May 27. Pay attention to the brand new themes that emerge now. This big planet will turn retrograde in July, then re-enter Pisces in September for a review before returning to Aries next year.

June 6 (PDT) / June 7 (EDT): Mars enters Virgo
Finally! Mars transited through Leo for an unusually long time due to its retrograde. As this planet travels into brand new territory and into such a hard-working sign, make sure you are ready to spring into action. Work projects and self-improvement programs of all kinds get extra attention now. Expect to invest your energy into diets and workout programs; you may even want to join a health club. If you know where Mars is traveling through your birth chart, you can see where you will be investing extra energy.

June 8: Jupiter conjuncts Uranus
What an exciting conjunction! When Jupiter expands the independent traits of Uranus in bold Aries, a big opportunity to forge a new path is presented. Take the initiative to reach out! Whether you join a revolution, invent something that will change the world or launch a business, people are sure to take notice.

June 9: Mercury enters Gemini
June 10: Mercury sextiles Uranus and Jupiter
Each year, when Mercury enters its own sign, Gemini, it's time to communicate your ideas -- whether you write them down or shout them to the world. Cast a wide net as you explore different avenues of thought: engage in interesting conversations, clip favorite articles from magazines, bookmark your favorite Web sites. You'll feel the stimulating sextile to the Uranus-Jupiter conjunction right away. Don't waste this time!

June 12: New Moon in Gemini
Interested in taking a language class? How about signing up to help kids read this summer? The new Moon is always a time of new beginnings, and in this premier education sign, starting any program of study will yield fabulous results. You have plenty of exciting ideas and plans, but with detail-oriented Saturn in Virgo squaring this new Moon, you'll be asked to find practical avenues and sensible applications. Your inspiration lands you plenty of help, though, as Neptune trines the new Moon.

June 14: Venus enters Leo and trines Uranus
Now that Uranus and Jupiter have entered Aries, Venus makes her first contact with this bold duo -- and she couldn't be happier! This is a wonderful aspect for meeting new people, or for simply doing something fun with people you already know. With all these good vibes, make room in your schedule to attend a party or event; you may even want to give online dating a try. Just don't waste this fun-loving energy!

June 15: Venus trines Jupiter and quincunxes Pluto
All that fun energy from yesterday carries into today as Venus connects with enthusiastic Jupiter. This is a great aspect for socializing and advancing your personal relationships. It seems like everybody loves you now, so take advantage of all the goodwill! Just keep in mind that with Venus's quincunx to Pluto, you'll be stretched a little outside your comfort zone. There's a big world out there, and it's reminding you to be more inclusive of ideas and people who may not be part of your inner circle.

June 15: Mars trines Pluto
Do you have a plan that will transform your life or the lives of others? Are you ready to take your ideas and projects to the next level? With this helpful aspect, you may receive a fabulous offer that you can't –- and shouldn't -- refuse! Cooperative ventures are favored right now, and work-related opportunities bring you face-to-face with people who can help you. Creativity, resourcefulness and action all come together. Go for it!

June 19: The Sun squares Saturn and trines Neptune
Time for a reality check! Hard work is required and you'll need to work well with others due to Saturn's square to the Sun. You'll be challenged to weed out superfluous activities and impractical ideas, as well as balance what you want with issues of "the greater good." Yet with Neptune's trine to the Sun, you get all the help you need from people inspired by you! Altruism goes a long way right now.

Enjoy the Sun's transit through Gemini!

** Astrolesson: Jupiter Transits

The poet and artist William Blake, who had a Sagittarius Sun conjunct Jupiter, wrote, "The road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom." This statement could be Jupiter's motto! Although we live in a world that often cautions us not to go too far out on a limb, Jupiter asks that we invest fully and wholeheartedly in our activities while reminding us that we gain wisdom by doing so. The natal placement of Jupiter highlights an area of exploration and shows us where we can help ourselves over a lifetime.

Jupiter is Sagittarius' ruling planet and gives us approximately one year of exploration through the sign qualities, as well as through the house it is transiting in the natal chart. It spends a full year in each sign; therefore, it spends twelve years transiting through all twelve signs.

Since Jupiter is one of the social planets (along with Saturn), the sign that Jupiter transits has something to say about how you can step out of your personal life and into your community -- or the world at large. The expansiveness and generosity of Jupiter is legendary! To take extra advantage of a Jupiter transit, use the best of the sign traits to further your aims.

Since Jupiter enters fire sign Aries this month and immediately conjuncts independent Uranus, you are likely to feel fired up about something! For some of you, this signals a time of innovation when you will make excellent progress. If you feel particularly strongly about something, Jupiter will help you get out in the world and make a few changes. But don't get too hot-headed about anything! If you tap into the warrior part of Aries, use it constructively and watch out for self-righteous firebrands bent on destruction.

As always, look at your own chart to see where you should direct this powerful energy.

** All About Taurus

All those rumors about Taureans being stubborn? They're true. But lest you begin to think that stubbornness is a bad trait, consider the way people talk about those who don't stick to what they believe in: wishy-washy, scattered, distracted. Isn't stubborn better? Of course, there are other words that suit the average Taurus quite well and have a nicer ring to them: focused, grounded and stable, to name just a few. In other words, if there's an important task to be accomplished, you'll want a Bull for the job.

But there's a lot more to that Taurean nature than the ability to make a decision and keep to it -- innate sensuality, for example. These folks are the touchmeisters of the zodiac, so if it smells, tastes, looks, sounds or feels good, they're there. Just step into the home of the nearest Taurus for ample proof. You may not find the Mona Lisa on the living room wall or a bottle of Dom in the fridge, but you'll come across something that looks just as elegant and tastes just as good. And you'll be in luck, too, because the Bull is more than happy to share ... as long as the company is of equal quality.

When it comes to relationships, in fact, the one thing a Taurus absolutely insists on is that they have something to share. These folks are very big on getting a return on their investments, no matter what or how they've invested -- and that goes for time, energy and resources. If you're involved with a Taurus on a one-on-one basis, it's not just unbelievably pleasurable, it's also a tremendous compliment!

With Venus as its ruler, Taurus settles for nothing less than the best of everything. If a Taurus isn't sure their partner answers that description on many levels, they wouldn't waste their time.

So if you're a Bull yourself, these thoughts might go through your mind every time you and your sweetie get into an argument that leaves you wondering if you should walk out and stay gone. You know you wouldn't be with them if they weren't the best, so be true to yourself and your decisions will prove to be as solid as you are!!

** Your Starcast for April 19 - May 19

April 19: Sun enters Taurus
The Sun's transit through earthy Taurus highlights your need to create more material security. So gather your pennies, put your money in a safe place, and analyze how you can improve your stability. Whether you get a job to save for college expenses or make a sensible plan for retirement, this is the time to take stock of where you are and what you want. Determination, loyalty and stubbornness are Taurus characteristics you can best utilize right now!

April 23: Venus squares Neptune and sextiles Uranus
Relationships can be trying, confusing and exciting -- all at the same time. And this week is one of those times! Pay extra attention so you don't mistake a frog for a prince, given love planet Venus's connection with dreamy Neptune. At the same time, be sure to take advantage of Venus's sextile to exciting Uranus, since this aspect signals your need to break out of old ruts and patterns.

April 24: Venus trines Saturn
The excitement and confusion of yesterday stabilizes with this sensible aspect. Inner and outer support systems fall into place, and you become clear-eyed when it comes to the important people in your life. This is an ideal time to speak up about changes you'd like to see in your relationships.

April 24: Venus enters Gemini
You encounter another relationship shift this week, as the love planet enters curious, boredom-averse Gemini. Take advantage of this social transit by signing up for a workshop or spending time at your local coffee shop -- anywhere you can be around people. If you're single, why not join a dating service? Already hooked-up? Sign up for a ballroom dancing class, or perhaps Italian lessons so you can speak with the locals on your next Roman vacation! (If you know your chart, look to the house where Venus is transiting for more ideas.)

April 26: Saturn opposes Uranus
You should be used to this aspect by now! Saturn has been opposing Uranus since November 2008 (in this series). Now these two planets connect again, emphasizing the change (Uranus) vs. experience (Saturn) mantra. No doubt your life has seen some significant changes since 2008! Your goal during this opposition is to maintain a healthy balance between responsibilities and your desire to make changes in your life. If you've resisted the message for change, you'll certainly be reminded of its importance now! On the other hand, if you've been rebellious and neglectful of your responsibilities, you will receive an important message about accountability at this time. Either way, your challenge is to build upon your experiences while also being open to change.

April 28: Full Moon in Scorpio
No sign is more passionate than this intense water sign! And with this full Moon -- always a time of increased emotions -- you can expect to feel strongly about everything. Figure out what you can let go of during this time of culmination, and make sure you don't work against your own best interests, with Mars weighing in with a square to this full Moon. Financial issues are highlighted right now, and you may need to decide where to invest your money -- whether in a child's education, or perhaps your next vacation!

May 2: Saturn quincunxes Neptune
Saturn represents building, and in Virgo it's time to streamline your day-to-day routine. Neptune represents the dream, and in Aquarius, your quest for a better life is -- and should be -- a central theme. Some of you are good builders; others of you are good dreamers. Globally and personally, these two energies are having a serious conversation right now. You are in the process of becoming clearer on the difference between your fantasies and dreams. This aspect reminds you how important it is to make appropriate adjustments in your long-term planning when environments change and new information becomes available.

May 3: Mercury trines Pluto
A Mercury-trine-Pluto aspect -- especially when both planets are in earth signs -- marks a great time to sell ideas and products, or to deepen your understanding of what's workable and what needs to be let go. Ordinarily, this would be a good aspect under which to sign contracts ... but because Mercury is currently retrograde, return instead to old ideas so you can tweak your goals.

May 4: Sun squares Mars
People tend to work at cross-purposes under this fiery aspect. Although you're likely to express yourself with a great deal of passion, you also have a tendency to be extra-concerned with getting your way. Mars heats up any planet with which it comes into contact, and you can easily get off-track by approaching people in a way that doesn't help you. Instead of pushing people to do something they don't want to do, take this formidable energy and pour it into achieving your own goals.

May 7: Venus sextiles Mars
Venus in chatty, curious Gemini and Mars in fun Leo make a great team in this air/fire combination. Venus softens Mars's hard edges, while Mars provides a strong shoulder to lean on. Opportunities to meet someone are abundant if you're single -- or if you're in a committed relationship, now is a great time to rekindle your romance. Make the most of this extremely social aspect!

May 11: Mercury turns direct
Have you had enough with glitches? As Mercury ends its retrograde in loyal Taurus, it's time to incorporate everything you've learned since April 17, when Mercury turned retrograde in this determined sign. Communication becomes easier and less confusing now, and you find it easier to make a decision. Hopefully you used the retrograde time well and have conducted a proper review and became better informed about your options. Now you can comfortably sign those contracts, send out your resume and reach out to others.

May 13: New Moon in Taurus
New Moons mark fresh beginnings, and in earthy Taurus -- the sign that rules personal values and money -- it's time for you to think about how to build and maintain a comfortable, secure life. Because so many planets connect with this new Moon, you receive a variety of messages about how to build more financial stability. Use the energy of this Moon to make a plan to save money and embody values that accurately reflect where you now are in life.

May 19: Venus enters Cancer
Are you ready to cuddle up? Making close emotional connections is more important than anything now, so enough thinking and talking! The relationship planet in this nurturing, cozy sign loves to wrap up in blankets, make some popcorn and watch a favorite movie. Single? Now's the time to reach out, for a loving heart opens up a universe of possibilities!

Enjoy the Sun's transit through Taurus

** Astrolesson: When Mercury Turns Retrograde

Since Mercury is retrograde in Taurus during most of this solar period, this is a perfect time to review the meaning of this important cycle!

Mercury is the planet that rules all communication, thoughts and perceptions. Put simply: When you think, you're using your Mercury! Mercury in Taurus in a natal chart shows a person who likes to take his or her time and deliberate carefully. You won't get quick answers from a person who has Mercury in Taurus!

With Mercury retrograde in this practical sign, it's more important than ever to slow down your thinking process. The glitches, delays and misunderstandings that are the hallmark of any Mercury retrograde period are infamous. Yet when you pay attention, you can make the most of this time by not pushing forward with your projects and plans; instead, take this opportunity to review them.

Keep in mind that because this messenger planet rules communications and travel, some of the common retrograde occurrences are delayed plans, computer glitches and stalled cars. If you can, wait until Mercury turns direct to launch anything new or make purchases related to communication or travel.

Of course, if you know your own chart, examine the house Mercury is traveling through for more information. Most importantly, work with this cycle rather than resist it, and be sure to review -- rather than act on -- information!

** All About Aries

Aries was named after the Greek god of war, and its patron planet is Mars, Aries's Roman counterpart. Astrologically speaking, the red planet has long been associated with 'red' qualities: assertiveness, aggression and passion. Those of you born with the Sun in this hotheaded, temperamental sign are also passionate, impatient and perpetually predisposed to leap first and look later ... if at all! But don't let anyone convince you that any of those traits are liabilities. In the right hands, they're all assets.

That impetuousness is part of what makes an Aries such charming, exciting company. It's a sign that's always brave enough to try anything once -- at least once. If you're an Aries, you're the perfect playmate; if you're not, you've probably enjoyed good times with one!

The impatience associated with the sign also fosters a straightforward trustworthiness. Aries are big fans of the 'cut to the chase' strategy, so anything that gets between point A (where they are) and point B (where they want to be) just won't do. This definitely includes lies and deceit. For the Ram, it's better to just say what's true and get it over with. Aries certainly aren't afraid to take responsibility for their actions. After all, what's the worst that could happen?

For Mars's favorite sign, stress equals excitement, excitement equals adrenaline, and adrenaline is what makes it all worth it! So, getting involved with an Aries, even platonically, isn't a job for the faint of heart. Romantically speaking, anyone who decides to take on a Ram had better be a brave, spontaneous and unencumbered companion. But an Aries will also want a worthy opponent, someone who's not afraid to disagree with their partner -- or with the rest of the world -- when the need arises. Aries are natural-born warriors who respect that quality in others. In short, anyone with fearful tendencies just won't do.

An Aries's lucky partner will be rewarded with a life full of adventure, passion and surprises. To say there will never be a dull moment when Aries is involved isn't even scraping the surface!

** Your Starcast for March 20 - April 18

March 20: Sun enters Aries
As the Sun enters the first sign of the zodiac, we mark the Spring Equinox for those of us above the equator, and the Fall Equinox for those below. Wherever you're located on the planet, this is a great time to embark upon a new journey. Mars, Aries's ruling planet, recently ended its long retrograde, which means you now have more than a few irons in the fire. It's time to do something with them!

March 22: Mars sextile Saturn
As Mars, now direct, picks up speed and connects in this beneficial aspect with responsible Saturn, you have plenty of opportunities to implement those plans and projects you've been tweaking over the last few months. With Mars in bold Leo and Saturn in social Libra, reach out to others to help you succeed!

March 25: Sun squares Pluto
Are you ready to modify your original plans and goals? Powerful Pluto in ambitious Capricorn weighs in, and whether it's the environment, an organization or a person, you must take something into consideration that alters your original plan. Listen carefully to make this time work for you. Do you need to stand your ground? Or will you benefit more by integrating others’ concerns? You’ll know what makes the most sense for you if you take time to think things through.

March 26: Mercury square the nodal axis
The impulsivity of the communication planet’s transit through Aries is questioned by this contact to the nodal axis in Capricorn and Cancer. When you speak, are others listening? If you want an audience for your ideas, plans or projects, you will need to demonstrate their validity and usefulness. Keep your ears open for an important message that can give you helpful information -- even if it's not easy to hear.

March 29: Full Moon in Libra
Whenever the Moon is full in relationship-oriented Libra, the Sun is in the opposite sign: self-oriented Aries. At this time, the dynamic between self and others is highlighted -- so your needs and desires, and those of others, need attention. Because of the full Moon, this may occur within an especially emotional climate, or even through confrontation. Pluto, currently in Capricorn, forms a major aspect -- a T-square at this full Moon -- which means something has to give ... or go. Look at where this aspect occurs in your own chart for more information.

March 31: Venus enters Taurus
As the planet of relationship heads into the sign of values and money, expect plenty of conversations with loved ones about your finances and the material aspects of your relationships. This is a perfect time to work out a plan for spending and saving with your partner, your child or your accountant. Get more clarity about your values -- where they match (or don't) -- and if necessary, work out a compromise.

April 2: Mercury enters Taurus
Mercury’s entrance into Taurus is a welcome relief! It gives you a chance to slow down your thoughts and the tempo of your life. Take your time and be deliberate in your thinking and planning, for the communication planet in this earthy, practical sign provides you with an opportunity to figure out what works, and what doesn’t. With all the changes going on in your life, this transit brings stable, sensible energy. You will help yourself every time you ask: "Is it practical?"

April 6: Pluto turns retrograde Get ready for a thorough review of how and where you're building your power base. (Check your own chart for specific location.) When Pluto entered ambitious Capricorn in November 2008, your attention turned to creating tangible improvements in certain areas of your life. Whether you're seeking the perfect career, looking to make a meaningful contribution to the world, or hoping to further your education, you're now ready to review and assess. Take your time, since Pluto doesn't end its retrograde period until September 14.

April 7: Saturn re-enters Virgo How healthy is your mind, body and spirit? And how does your life reflect this? When Saturn entered relationship-focused Libra on October 29, 2009, it turned our attention away from Virgo, a sign devoted to issues of work, health and service. Now, Saturn retrogrades back into analytical Virgo, and once again your health requires more of your consideration. It's time to de-stress! Restructure your schedule and allow it to add to your well-being. If you're feeling especially ambitious, include helping the health of our planet in your plan. And if you're familiar with your chart, pay special attention to the house where Saturn is transiting for more information.

April 10: Mars quincunxes Pluto Every planet entering a new sign has one of its first conversations with Pluto, since this powerful planet is in the early degrees of Capricorn. All those years with Pluto in the late degrees of Sagittarius meant that our lives transformed in significant ways -- but always at the end of each cycle. Now, we pay our coin up front, so to speak. Think of Pluto as the-powers-that-be, or as a situation that can change your current trajectory. This aspect describes a course correction. Is this good or bad? It depends on how you decide to handle it.

April 14: New Moon in Aries
A new Moon in the first sign of the zodiac heralds a time of new beginnings and fresh starts. This is the time to take initiative, so don't wait on the sidelines for someone else to move you forward! More than likely, you'll feel the drive of this pioneering sign and take the necessary steps to further your goals and dreams. Just keep in mind that Aries is also the sign of the warrior, so be thoughtful of others while advancing your own causes.

April 17: Mercury turns retrogrades in Taurus
Are you prepared for a new Mercury retrograde period? Since we give you notice whenever Mercury retrogrades -- three times every year for approximately 21 days each time -- hopefully you plan in advance! As usual, this is a period often marked by misunderstandings and delays. All the normal rules apply: don't sign contracts, and don't buy communication-related products such as phones and computers, or travel-related items such as cars and plane tickets. That said, life doesn't always cooperate with Mercury retrograde periods! So if you must sign a contract, build in escape clauses. If you buy any of the above items, safeguard the receipts and double-check reservations. Most importantly, go back to conversations and ideas you did not fully explore previously. Keep in mind that this is a period when a thorough review will help you in the long run. One thing is certain: When you know how to work with Mercury's retrograde, you automatically make your life easier! (Mercury ends its retrograde on May 11.)

April 18: The Sun sextiles Neptune
Where are you in the grand scheme of your life? This visionary aspect offers plenty of opportunities to advance your goals, express your creativity and open your mind to ideas that can benefit your life, and the lives of others. Everybody has a part to play ... so play yours!

Enjoy the Sun's transit through Aries!

** Astrolesson: Transiting Mars

Since transiting Mars has finally ended its long retrograde during this solar period, this is a perfect time to discuss Aries' ruling planet.

Mars turned retrograde in bold, dramatic Leo on December 20, 2009, and turned direct on March 10. But Mars will remain in Leo all the way until June 7 -- a long time to spend in one sign! What this means is that Mars has been responsible for lots of energy going back and forth in one area of your birth chart. Hopefully you have used this time well. Review the following Mars characteristics to see what you've accomplished ... and what could use some improvement. Remember, you have until June 7 to complete your projects and plans!

Mars is the planet that shows how you go after something -- what sets you in motion and how you act upon your desires. When you stand up for your needs, and when you advocate for either someone else or for a cause, you are expressing Mars. Mars in Leo gives you a chance to showcase your creativity while treating yourself and others with respect. Leo is a sign of leadership, and it's time for you to demonstrate yours!

Use Mars in a proactive, assertive and healthy way, and you'll have the energy to move mountains! Once Mars enters hardworking Virgo on June 7, your energy will shift. Until then, be creative, bold and generous -- three of the Leo's best attributes!

** All About Pisces

Pisces can be a bit of a mystery -- a delightful, unsolvable riddle that never fails to keep us guessing. Those born under this sign enjoy a magical ability to fit into any situation, to mix and mingle with all kinds of people and then retreat to the sidelines whenever they feel the urge. In fact, those who spend much time with a Pisces might wonder if they're actually capable of shape-shifting and mind reading. The Fish also possess uncanny intuition, which is no surprise considering that Neptune -- the mistress of altered states -- is their planetary ruler. Neptune's specialty is dissolving boundaries, and she's shared that gift with the Piscean crowd. These folks can get lost in a movie, a magical moment or a fantasy, leaving the harshness of reality behind when necessary.

As all you Fish out there can attest, Pisces is also the most emotional of the signs. Since there are no boundaries between you and the world around you, you often feel everything -- absolutely everything. Differentiating between what you feel and what someone else is feeling, especially someone you care about, is your greatest challenge. You likely learned early on to 'escape' in one way or another and can become a regular Houdini when you need to. Just be sure you're not gone too long when you take your much-needed vacations from the world. We're all happier when you're here with us -- so do hurry back!

When it comes to relationships, if Pisces is involved, Pisces is involved. Period. No two ways about it. These folks will literally fire walk for their dear ones, and would try walking on water for them too if they thought they could manage it. Pisceans are better at long-term relationships than most of us, and much better at keeping the romance alive with little things: hand-delivering a single red rose, ordering one dessert with two spoons and never, ever forgetting a special occasion. The main romantic challenge for this Sun sign is to learn that putting a special someone on a pedestal can mean only one thing: They've got to come down eventually. So stand next to your partner proudly, Pisces, and love them because of (not in spite of) their faults. And never go against your instincts. They will never lead you astray.

** Your Starcast for February 18 to March 20

February 18: Sun enters Pisces
The Sun's transit through this imaginative, sensitive water sign reminds you to withdraw from some of your outer world involvements and connect with your inner self or spirituality. This is a great time to tune into your dreams for yourself, your family and the world. Use this solar period to swim around in the cosmic ocean of the Pisces fish: float, dog-paddle, back-stroke, tread water or ride the waves! Famous Pisces Albert Einstein, Michelangelo and poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning all tapped into their muse to produce some of the most beautiful art and revolutionary ideas the world has known. Find your own muse and see what kind of magic you can create.

February 20: Sun quincunx Mars
February 21: Sun quincunx Saturn
The Sun forms a yod, a major aspect, with a connection to the current Mars-sextile-Saturn aspect. While this sextile brings plenty of opportunities, the quincunx to both Mars and Saturn calls for adjustments in how you are expressing yourself.

February 23: Sun sextile Pluto
You have plenty of opportunities to maximize support that is available to you at this time. People in positions of power notice you, and are willing to help. With the fertile potential of this aspect, step into your new power, demonstrate confidence and create something amazing!

February 28: Sun conjunct Jupiter
Jupiter is like a magnifying glass. When this optimistic planet forms a conjunction, it makes the sign qualities and body it touches a bigger theme than it would be otherwise. When Jupiter entered Pisces last month, it brought expansive energy to the sign of the Dreamer. The message? Give more time and attention to your inner or spiritual life. The generosity of this planet is legendary, so watch for acts of kindness and charity in your own life, and in the world at large.

February 28: Full Moon in Virgo
Although full Moons are known for heightened emotions, during this full Moon -- even more then usual -- nobody is even a little bit logical! With a Sun/Jupiter conjunction in Pisces, a Venus/Uranus conjunction in Pisces and a Mercury/Neptune conjunction in Aquarius, don't even try to have a pragmatic thought or rational discussion. Yet, the analytical Moon in Virgo is supported by a powerful trine from Pluto. Any detailed ideas will need to wait before you broadcast them. For now, meditate, read poetry and smell the roses.

March 1: Mercury enters Pisces
Daydreaming is so underrated! If we didn’t all take a little time to turn down the noise and inspire ourselves, we’d never think up new directions and paths. So, listen to beautiful music, take a walk in the park, record your musings in a journal or just sit and gaze at nothing. You’ll be amazed at how refreshed you feel afterward!

March 3: Venus conjunct Uranus
Are your relationships a little too dull lately? As the planet of love joins unpredictable and exciting Uranus, one thing is for sure: You won’t be bored this week! This is a wonderful aspect to sparkle up all your important relationships. Keep an open mind with everyone you meet -- it’s time to move out of your old ruts and ways of relating. If not now, when?

March 7: Venus enters Aries
Looking for a soul mate? As the planet of love enters this on-the-go fire sign, it’s time for you to get off the couch, turn off your computer and actually go out and do something! Do you like competitive sports? Racquetball, tennis or even getting into the batting cage are all fabulous ways to meet someone now. Already in a relationship? Since Aries is the god of war in mythology, use this transit to spark your passion: fan those flames, pick an activity and get out of the house together!

March 9: Venus opposite Saturn
When two planets are conjunct, right next to each other, sometimes we're too close to a situation to see what's going on. Opposition aspects offer a chance to stand back and get a good look at something. Venus in bold, impulsive Aries receives Saturn's advice: Take your time! Do you need to put on the brakes, and more clearly define your goals and boundaries? How appreciated do you feel? Facing limitations -- your own and those of others -- helps you make beneficial choices.

March 10: Mars turns direct
Are you ready to take the next step? Mars has been retrograde in Leo since December 20 of last year, and by now you're probably more than ready to get your projects and plans off the ground. And this action-oriented planet is raring to go! Think of a small child who hasn't been able to go out and play for two-and-a-half months and ... well, you get the idea. Once the door opens, all that energy wants release. However, keep in mind that although you achieve forward momentum now, nothing moves quickly this month. So, don't put the cart before the horse!

March 11: Venus square Pluto
A couple days ago, your received a relationship reality check when Saturn opposed Venus. Now intense Pluto challenges you to let go of what (or who) you can't control. Something needs to be released. Is it a person -- or an old idea -- that may no longer serve you? It's time to transform your relationship values to better reflect the person you are today.

March 14: Sun conjunct Mercury
Last January, Mercury, while retrograde, formed a conjunction with the Sun. At that time, you received information you were unable to put to good use; still, hopefully you used that time to do research. These two come together again, this time in inspiring Pisces, and finally you have a chance to further your dreams and goals. You can now reap the benefits of all the conversations and ideas you've had over the last couple of months. This marks a time of new beginnings, new plans and new ideas.

March 15: New Moon in Pisces
Ordinarily, a new Moon in Pisces invites you to dream, to withdraw from the hectic pace of day-to-day life, to contemplate. A spiritual getaway, a meditation retreat or even simply sitting in your bedroom with a do-not-disturb sign on the door as you read a novel -- these are all great slow-down activities. But this particular new Moon sits right next to a Mercury/Uranus conjunction, which means your mental state is anything but quiet! You'll have plenty of brilliant ideas, and since the new Moon is always an apt time to start something, write those ideas down and see what you can put into motion.

March 17: Mercury enters Aries
Mercury's entrance into the first sign of the zodiac brings a new conversation -- or a new approach to an old one. What a great time to brainstorm! Your mind is so active and fired up that you'll let nothing get in your way. Just keep in mind that Aries was the god of war, and with a communication sign occupying such a feisty sign, try not to argue. Instead, take that ball of energy and direct it toward achieving your goals.

Enjoy the Sun's transit through Aquarius!
----------------------------------------------------------------
** Astrolesson: Jupiter Transits

Since Jupiter, Sagittarius' ruling planet, spends one year in each Sun sign, it takes 12 years to transit through all 12 signs. Since Jupiter is one of the social planets (the other is Saturn), the sign Jupiter transits through has something to say about how you want to step out of your personal life and into your community, or the world at large. Simply put, Jupiter and Saturn together represent your lifestyle.

January 17, 2010 marked Jupiter's entrance into Pisces. This big planet is traveling so quickly that Jupiter zips through Pisces and reaches Aries in record time –- by June 5! After a conjunction with independent Uranus on June 8, Jupiter turns retrograde on July 23 and retrogrades back into Pisces September 8.

When Jupiter forms an aspect to outer planets, the social trend symbolized by Jupiter connects with the collective energy of the outer planet. Jupiter's conjunction to Uranus marks a bold and revolutionary time. Also, Jupiter's square to Pluto (from July 24 through August 2) brings its principles of expansion up against the intensity of Pluto. This is powerful energy -- and extremely political! Watch for new social policies and trends with this aspect.

Because these planets are also transiting through your own chart, look to the houses where these aspects take place so you can use this dynamic energy to set a new trend for yourself!

** All About Aquarius

Let's start by telling the Aquarians out there exactly what they want to hear (which, fortunately, also happens to be the whole truth about this sign): You, Aquarius, are one of a kind. Every single Water Bearer is absolutely unique in every possible way -- and there's a very real reason for that. These folks work hard to ensure that they're completely and noticeably different from the crowd. And just in case others don't pick up on it from the way they dress or the jewelry they wear, Aquarians get their point across the moment they voice their opinions. But those opinions, while radical and rebellious, are also somehow completely, totally and inarguably logical. In short, those born under this month's sign are the ultimate observers of humankind, which makes them able to not just understand, but also empathize with any and all points of view -- no easy task!

When it comes to relationships, the influence of Aquarius's ruling planet -- unpredictable, freedom-loving Uranus -- is obvious. If you're a Water Bearer yourself, you know you've got a taste for what might gently be called 'the unusual.' (In other words, anyone who's liable to startle your friends and family when you bring them home for Sunday dinner will do just fine.) But before you issue that all-important invitation, there's a very specific list of qualities you run over in your mind. For starters, if they're completely different from anyone you've ever known, that's a plus. And if they honestly don't know how to be prejudiced against anyone, in any way, you may well be in love -- and you've certainly found a potential match.

Of course, persuading an Aquarius to give up their precious freedom is a tall order -- but the rewards are well worth the efforts! In short, holding on with an open hand is absolutely the only way to keep things going when you're flirting with unconventionality. But once Aquarius has found the one, they'll make of their partner not just a lover and a spouse, but also a lifelong best friend.

** Your Starcast for January 19 to February 18

January 18: Sun enters Aquarius
January 24: Sun trines Saturn
Aquarius is often mistaken for a water sign since its symbol is the Water Bearer. But this sign is actually a member of the air element, and as such is involved in the world of ideas. If you've ever known an Aquarian, you already know that there is something different about them. They may be unconventional or rebellious. Their ideas may be cutting-edge, or downright eccentric! Every year as the Sun transits Aquarius, you have the opportunity be less conservative and a bit more unconventional. It's time to break out of ruts and open your soul to new possibilities and pathways. The Sun's trine to Saturn shows that people in positions of authority are willing to help you. Take advantage of this supportive environment!

January 29: Sun opposite Mars
Midway into the Mars retrograde cycle, the Sun and Mars form an opposition, which means that while the Sun is on one side of the earth and 180 degrees away, Mars is on the other side. Whenever you think of Mars, think of something heating up. It's a warrior planet that also represents one of the most powerful advocates you could ever have. Nothing is moving quickly right now, so don't push -- and don't allow events or people to get you off-track. But do keep an eagle-eye out for anyone on a slow simmer who uses hate as their fuel.

January 29: Full Moon in Leo
The Sun and Moon are always opposite each other during a full Moon. This time, because retrograde Mars is currently opposite the Sun, the moon sits next to Mars, which heats up the emotional atmosphere quite a bit! Leadership, respect for yourself and others, and creativity are leading themes of Leo -- so be sure to lead and create, while conducting yourself in an admirable way. Take into account that the current Saturn/Pluto square is also highlighted now, which means that it's time to let go of whatever isn't working.

January 31: Saturn squares Pluto
Last November 15, Saturn squared Pluto. Now, with Saturn retrograde, this serious planet squares intense Pluto yet again, emphasizing themes that have been in place since last fall. Pay attention to whatever is a central topic in your life right now, because once Saturn is direct in August, we will see a repeat of this game-changing square. This aspect represents a conflict, a clash of world views, and the need to rehabilitate outmoded systems. Release your old vision about the way the world is and the ways things should work. Since the world is changing, you will help yourself by changing right along with it!

February 5: Jupiter quincunx Saturn
These two planets represent expansion (Jupiter) and contraction (Saturn). Astrologers call them the social planets. Together, they represent your lifestyle. The quincunx aspect is an angle of adjustment, making this the perfect time to curtail overspending and make a sensible plan that creates an unshakable foundation for ongoing stability. Your ability to be flexible in the face of changing circumstances will help you navigate this period and make beneficial decisions.

February 6: Jupiter sextile Pluto
How successful can you be? As much as your enthusiasm and your faith allows! The planets of expansion and power form an opportunity aspect, bringing prestigious and influential people into your life who can help you make the most of your goals. Use the resourcefulness of this combination and you will take your life to new heights! Believe in yourself and others will, too.

February 7: Venus conjunct Neptune
Are you ready to fall in love? When Venus, the planet of personal love, joins up with Neptune, the planet of spiritual love, you can't help but open your heart. Idealism is high and you are likely to see beauty in the least expected places. Just make sure you don't have rose-colored glasses on! Make the most of this energy by spending special time with your favorite mortal, messy, fabulous person -? even if that person is you!

February 10: Mercury enters Aquarius
Mercury's recent retrograde in pragmatic Capricorn reminded you to be sensible. Now, Mercury's entrance into free-spirited Aquarius brings a fresh point of view. You benefit the most by getting the word out about all those original creative ideas of yours. Leave old concepts and ways of thinking behind; instead, look to the future, be inventive and think outside the box. If you know which house in your chart Mercury is traveling through, apply those ideas to that area of your life.

February 10: Mars quincunx Jupiter
February 12: Mars quincunx Pluto
Mars, now retrograde, forms a major aspect, called a yod, with a quincunx to Jupiter and also to Pluto. Because Jupiter just recently entered Pisces, this is the first contact while in Leo with this big planet. The quincunx to Pluto occurred last October when Mars was direct. While Jupiter and Pluto are forming a sextile -? a very beneficial aspect -? Mars is getting schooled by both of them. Now is the time to make a big adjustment in the way you are going about your activities and formulating your plans. Look for a situation or individual who can shape the course of your life or change your current trajectory. In general, this aspect describes a course correction. Is that good or bad? It depends -- mostly on how you decide to think about it and handle it.

February 11: Venus enters Pisces
Do you have a soul mate? Once each year when Venus transits through spiritual Pisces, your heart seeks a love connection. Whether you are married, in a committed relationship or single, this is a perfect time to strengthen the spiritual bonds with those you care about ?- including yourself! Can you leave the busy thinking world behind for the time being? Arrange for a spiritual retreat, listen to inspiring music, commune with nature and turn off your noisy mind. There are times when love and appreciation need no words. They just need to be felt.

February 13: New Moon in Aquarius
The Aquarius motto is: I've got to be me! This Moon not only highlights the desire to be independent, unique and free, but also activates our desire to be part of something bigger. Whether you invest in a cause close to your heart or spend more time with friends, teamwork will move you forward and help you become successful. Neptune's conjunction to this new Moon can bring a desire to develop your spiritual life. If you try to be excessively logical about anything at this time, you may end up more confused in the long run! For now, just open up to the possibilities of a larger, more inclusive sensibility. The new Moon is always a time of new beginnings, so start something -- a dream goal, an idea, plan or project. The Moon increases in light between its new and full phases, while the power of the new Moon phase remains in effect until the full Moon.

February 15: Mars sextile Saturn
Even as Mars is in strategic retreat mode due to its retrograde in Leo, this sextile to responsible Saturn (also retrograde) in diplomatic Libra brings opportunities to solidify some of your projects and plans. Making smart choices now will lay a solid foundation for success, from which you will benefit once Mars turns direct on March 10. Look for people who appreciate all your hard work. They just may help you take the next step!

Enjoy the Sun's transit through Aquarius!

** Astrolesson: Venus, the Planet of Love

Since Valentine's Day is celebrated during this solar period, we thought you'd appreciate a little astrological love education!

Venus is the planet that symbolizes love and other things we value most. For example, if your Venus is in Aries, the warrior sign, you enjoy a little feistiness in a person, and are less likely to fall in love with someone who's extremely laid-back. If your Venus is in Gemini, a sign of communication, then you won't be content with a partner you have to play twenty questions with to just find out how their day went!

The house position of Venus shows a likely place for love to be found. If your Venus is in your sixth house, keep your eyes open in your workplace. If Venus is in the natal eleventh house, your friends are likely to be the ones to introduce you to your potential mate.

Clearly, the sign placement of Venus in your birth chart describes your preferences in relationship. So when you find yourself interested in someone, check out their Venus sign to see if the two of you are a good match for one another!
