Esbats are pagan rites/ritual that celebrates the Moon in her many phases also known as " Working Celebrations", time to do magik for all purposes during the hieght of the moon's energy, which is the full moon. There are 13 Full Moons in a Lunar Year. As I have mentioned in the past articles I also use the term Drawing Down the Moon, which simply means drawing the energy from the moon. The Moon's energy is very strong and can used for magikal purposes of many things. For example, say you have a piece of jewlery that you like to wear for protection, you would do a simple spell stating what that piece of jewlery is meant for, then place the jewlery or whatever else you want in the moon's light and perform a ritual to draw down the moon. Keep the items in the moon's light all night. This is also a great time to do spells for protecting your home, family, pets...etc. For me and most other people this is a great night to harvest herbs, make candles, become stocked again with all your supplies and prepare them for their uses for the next 28 days. So, as you can see it is a very busy night for pagans. Blessed Be, ~ Autumn [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
