For many centuries Pagans and Christianity have ALWAYS seen different views. When Christianity came along they tried to make their own holidays on or near Pagan sabbats in hope to eradicate all Pagan beliefs. The Winter Solstice. The sabbat of Yule, December 21st, is an important time for the Sun. The Goddess gives brith to the Sun God on this day. The Sun God grows from a son, eventually to a Father, and then into the Sage. Just as the Goddess goes through her cycle of the year from Maiden, Mother , and then Crone. On Decomber 21st and this day forth the days will grow to become longer and soon the Earh will warm up and start the growing season. Not sure why the article mentioned Decmeber 25th, I'd have to read the article to understand more of what was said in it. Happy Yule / Winter Solstice ~Autumn >Lilirish: > >Hi long time no talk. How is your job search going? >Last I saw was that you interviewed for a job (in >Wapun (sp) I think.) Can't keep everything straight. > >What is new with you? > >My other question is I read an article on Wiccan and >astrology today (a mixture of alot of dfferent stuff). > Anyway they talked about Christmas being the birth of >the sun from an astorolgy stand point. I this right. >Is there any extra significance to this date in >astrology? and wouldn't the birth of the sun be on >Dec 20, 21 or 22 (can never keep that straight)? Why >then is Dec. 25 christmas? > >Let me know when you can. > >Contemplating Tom > >Oh ans how is Billy adusting? [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
