Hi Ellen,
I have sort of a similar situation, but for me it also one of smoking being a thing i like to do for me, kind of a private enjoyment. What I do may solve your problem if you live in the same type of neighborhood as me. I go for walks in the woods nearby, where it is me and nature (which is enjoyable) and that is it. No one around, relaxing environment, and a time to do some great thinking. It really works for me.
