Subject: Do you think things would have played out differently, had Frank not gotten hurt & returned home so soon after being deployed?

One of the comments Frank made was that Denise & Jeremy had lied about how their life, in general, was fine.

As a wife & mother, Denise would have to make decisions on what to tell Frank when he is deployed in a field of battle. She would also have to choose what NOT to say, as well.

Do you think Denise & Jeremy would have worked things out, had Frank not come home when he did?

[> I think Denise and Jeremy were starting to really work things out. Allthough Frank would eventually find out but i'm not sure if his reaction would be quite the same. I believe he is going threw something right now and if he hadn't been in the accident he wouldn't have reacted the same way. -- Sarah, 08:17:47 07/11/07 Wed [1]

[> Yes, absolutely they were working on it and it all started with Denise taking her control and strength back and telling Jeremy how it is. I loved how Denise started it off by telling Jeremy how much she loved him and then said "But" and told him how it was. The look on his face said he knew she meant business. I totally loved the interaction between Denise and Jeremy in the week befores episode, and Jeremy telling Amanda that he feels like things are finally getting better. -- KH, 09:10:12 07/11/07 Wed [1]

[> [> IMO Frank acts the same whether he is on duty or at home, a military man who runs his home the same way he runs his troops. (an ex. is from the first ep. when he's addressing Jeremy about being late,"stand up when I'm talking to you", "you're dismissed"), telling Denise not to coddle him when she wasn't, she was just trying to tell Frank how it is. Frank loves Denise but he also likes to be in "command". I think another poster said it well when they said they think Denise picks her battles and let's the rest go and walks on eggshells. I agree with that assessment totally. But I also believe things are going to change at the Sherwood home and Denise is definitely going to assert herself and hopefully bring about a change in Frank as well. Take Care! :o) -- KH, 09:15:42 07/11/07 Wed [1]

[> Texasbrat, you second comment above about Denise is so true and I believe she was right in not telling him about it while he was deployed. :o) -- KH, 09:18:01 07/11/07 Wed [1]

[> I think Denise was working very hard in forgiving Jeremy, and Jeremy was working hard to restore his mother's trust in him. They weren't there yet, Denise was still a little reserved with Jeremy (as she should be) but I do think Frank's early return "upset the apple cart" so to speak. Frank IMHO runs his house like he runs his soldiers, & Denise & Jeremy are just that, soldiers under his command. I think Frank has a hard time separating the two....that's not to say he's not in love with Denise, but as someone said below he doesn't treat Denise as an equal partner, & Denise to a fault, has allowed herself to be used as a doormat, like was also said, picking her battles & remaining silent probably most of the time. I'm looking forward to watching Denise evolve! -- Jennifer, 09:26:10 07/11/07 Wed [1]

[> Would love to jump on the everything will be okay bandwagon but have some concerns. Denise was laying the groundwork on how she expected to be treated in the future, Jeremy was beginning to realize that he could no longer use his mother as a punching bag, but what's he going to do with all that pent-up anger? He goes to Michael for help and is put on hold until he tells his father. Denise had asked him why he kept doing this? No one is coming up with alternatives for the kid. All they do is tell him to stop. The root of the problem is not being addressed. Obviously something is wrong. Sit him down when he's not in a rage and find out what's going on. Six months is a long time to let a problem like this continue. -- Jubellant, 10:15:33 07/11/07 Wed [1]

[> [> I'm with you. I think he should get help immediately. Didn't Michael tell Frank that he was going to help Jeremy and then Frank told him to keep him and his wife out of it? I'm hoping Michael follows up on that. -- Theresa, 15:41:44 07/11/07 Wed [1]

[> [> Good points. I feel Michael pushed Jeremy away, causing him to enlist. Michael said he would help him after he told Frank, he told Frank, then goes by the Holdens, & Michael told him to leave too. Michael knew he'd told Frank, cuz he'd just talked to Frank about it. Instead he told Jeremy to stay away from him & his family, so the one person Jeremy thought would help him, let him down too. -- Texasbrat, 05:00:19 07/12/07 Thu [1]

[> [> [> I thought Michael said he didn't want Jeremy to see Amanda. I don't remember him saying he wouldn't help him. The scene ended with Michael saying Jeremy had to earn his trust again. I'll have to go back and look. -- Theresa, 12:37:52 07/12/07 Thu [1]
