Subject: Great post.. I agree with you on most of that, I also believe their upbringings were completely different and are creating an issue.
In reply to: Erin 's message, "Wow .. this really picked up some conversation! I'm extremely worried about Frank and Denise, their relationship seems to be diminishing.. I sure hope they can pull it back together, they used to have such a sweet and caring relationship! I also think the different ways they were brought up are effecting them , we know Denise was brought up in the army and was used to have a man in control of the house but we haven't heard about Frank's upbringings. I have the feeling he was raised very strictly obeying everything (inside...)" on 18:43:47 07/10/07 Tue

[> I don't think its diminishing, but is of course estranged at the moment. We all go through bumps in life, & hopefully this bump will not fester for too long. I think Frank's problem was he treated his son like a soldier, & given the long strings of deployment, Frank may of expected too much from Jeremy (man of the house)....Jeremy still deserved to have his clocked cleaned IMHO, but by Denise, not Frank. Jeremy's actions were not a slight on Frank as Frank is making it out to be, Denise was his victim. Denise stood up to Jeremy & they were working on their relationship. I totally understand Frank's being angry at Jeremy, what father/husband wouldn't be? Inside.... -- Jennifer, 09:34:14 07/11/07 Wed [1]

I don't agree with Frank's throwing Jeremy out, what bothered me the most with that scene is that Frank wouldn't EVEN listen to Denise, just totally dimissed what she had to say, like he dismissed Jeremy.

I don't think Frank is a bad man...I do think he has trouble separating his family from those under his command....that's not to say Frank doesn't completely love his wife, but at the same time I don't think he views Denise as his equal.

I'm looking forward to the rest of the season, cause I see (I hope anyway) a new chapter being written with Frank & Denise...people have to continue to grow & evolve in their relationships, and for too long Denise has "lost" herself in their marriage. I see a new direction, where hopefully Frank and Denise can GROW together, and Frank recognizes just how strong Denise is, and that she is his equal.

Good post Erin!

[> [> I totally agree with your bumps in life Jennifer. It is those bumps in the road that sometimes jolt us into doing something other than the status quo. The dynamics in this marriage and family needed a wakeup call and I think Jeremy's acting out is the catalyst that will cause this family to realize that everything is not picture perfect. -- Jubellant, 10:48:25 07/11/07 Wed [1]
