Subject: Denise refuses to address whether or not she was in love with Getti. Do you think she was in love with him? Do you think she loves Frank? What do you thnk would have happened if Getti had survived the accident? Would Denise still have confessed to Frank? What do you think would have happened if Denise had met Getti at the Julep?

The "sides" for this episode originally had Denise telling Ghetti's father that she did love Ghetti (not IN love but loved) & also that Alfred knew about their kiss. For whatever reason that part was removed, & I think it was the right thing to do. I think Denise is conflicted, but she is still in love with Frank (why I don't know LOL) & I think she just wants to be respected & listened too. Is Frank going to finally do that? I think if Denise had met Ghetti at the Julep she would've told him flat out that it was over, that the kiss was wrong and that she made a horrible mistake.

If Ghetti had survived, he would've moved on, and Denise would've ended things and I think try to work things out with Frank. Denise is the one who suggested marriage counseling, and sorry but Frank STILL doesn't get it.

Their fighting in reality had nothing to do with Ghetti, and if Frank really truly believes this then he is the biggest blockhead in the world. He still REFUSES to see that his own actions, his controlling nature, his refusal to LISTEN to his wife, the fact he TALKS AT his wife, the fact he treats her life a 5 year old is part of the problem.

Denise also has to own up to her mistakes, & the fact that she allowed it to go on. She needs to convey what she's feeling to Frank, but again will the big dunderhead actually get it, or will it fly right over his head as he continues to blame everything on Denise and the fact that she went back to work?

I think Denise's comments to Frank about his being her best friend and how she felt she couldn't talk to him is very telling....She's tired of trying to talk to him because he doesn't listen, and she's tired of being belittled and controlled by him. He doesn't get it....Ghetti, wrong as he was as well to pursue a married woman, got it.

Of course Denise still loves Frank....I think she more or less loved what Ghetti gave her i.e. the fact he treated her with respect, he listened to her, he didn't try and poo-poo her dreams (like riding the bike) whereas Frank is the opposite...he doesn't respect her, he doesn't listen to her, & he definitely does not want Denise fulfilling her dreams, either by going back to work or riding the bike. He's still giving her crap about work...

I've been reading some of the not so nice comments at the IMDB board, and one comment was that Denise should have to fight to get Frank back, and that Michael was wrong to tell Frank to fight for Denise. Well IMHO Frank should have to fight, they both should have to fight if they want to save their marriage. Frank still has not given any indication he's willing to change, or that he "gets" his attitude and his behaviour is a HUGE factor, he still is blaming it on Denise.

Denise has taken the first step...she admitted her mistake to Frank, and she wants to get help. We'll see how the blockhead acts in marriage counseling, if he is going to "get" it or not.

Even in his short empathy moment with Jeremy when he says that his own father's advice to tough it out wouldn't suffice to help what Jeremy was going through, we get a glimpse into the type of childhood Frank had. On the outside he appears to be this tough gruff guy but I think he really is a softie who kind of had that side of himself supressed by his upbringing. He seems to have trouble expressing himself. Things are fine as long as Frank controls things, as long as Denise is locked up in the house & Frank can treat her like his troops or her father. He'd better learn to accept the changes & LISTEN to her, instead of continuing to try & bully her into doing what he wants.
