[> All I can say is OMG!!! What a fantastic season opener!... -- Angela -- Mommy of 2 JAGLettes, 06:25:16 06/09/08 Mon [1]

I hope I am doing this right. I was soo sad when it was revealed that Amanda had died, I liked her character. It took me by suirprise that Claudia Joy was dreaming. I was wondering why she wasn't with the other wives tho. I thought for sure it was gonna be Betty. I was glad to see Jeremy be there for his mom. Poor Roxy, she was going crazy. I am glad Joan was able to tell her about Trevor. I hope Joan doesn't terminate her pregnancy, I really like her and Roland together. I am glad that they were all there for each other. I feel so bad for Claudia Joy and Michael. I see they have a new Emmaline. I do have one question, why wasn't Pamela at the hump bar??

[> Probably when everyone has a chance to digest what they saw LOL! I hate the fact that the show is on at 10PM, cause it really doesn't give you a lot of time to come & post, cause of work on Monday. It was definitely worth the wait, kudos to the producers/writers/actors et al for a job WELL DONE! I can't wait to see what the ratings were! As for the ep, inside for a couple of comments.... -- Jennifer, 07:24:28 06/09/08 Mon [1]

First, I loved it when Joan put Roxy in her place. Bout d**n time someone did. Roxy is my LEAST favorite character, I find her to be an annoying TWAT most of the time, and tonight she was WAAAAAAAY over the top. You DO NOT slam the door on the CID just because your panties are in a wad because your husband hasn't called. My goodness, how many families go weeks without hearing from loved ones, and she's all bent out of shape over a couple of days? Yes its traumatic, and no I don't think I could ever be a military spouse, they have got intestinal fortitude that I don't, but Roxy needed to CHILL and she needs to learn protocal and how to act. It was completely wrong for her to go to Joan's like she did, and again, since I don't like the character all that much she was extremely annoying.

2. I loved it when Joan brought Roland home, and he asked her what she wanted. She simply said "I want you..." I really hope these two work on things, because I think they do truly love each other.

3. I liked when Roland apologized to Joan about the affair. It doesn't make it right, but he acknowledges and knows the hurt he caused Joan and that she didn't deserve it.

4. Too much narrative by Pamela...I understand for that story that's way it was presented, but at times I just wanted to say "shut up!" LOL!

5. I liked it when Jeremy came home and was able to be with Denise. I think Denise has forgiven Jeremy, and its nice to see them be able to be mother and son again.

6. Denise in nurse mode...she's got the bedside manner which is caring, and I'm so glad she went back to nursing. Loved when she started talking to Betty, and addressed her as Betty Camden....loved the interchange with Roland when Roland admits that he was feeling no pain and seeing 3 of her LOL!

7. Claudia Joy and Michael....Oh man what can you say???? I had a feeling it was some sort of hallucination or dream, but it did not come together obviously until the end. There were clues, when Pamela said on air about the mind playing tricks, the fact that Amanda was going to Harvard, the mother-daughter chats that will now never occur....Very said indeed. Michael's grief just tore at you, Brian McNamara did a very very good job. At first I thought maybe it was Claudia Joy that was being brought back to life, hence her in-between, but of course realized it was Amanda. And Amanda had to be the one to say "I'm ready to go..." Gosh very powerful! Its going to make for some emotional episodes for the Holden's, I cannot imagine as a parent having to bury your child.

So S2 is underway....its gonna be a heckuva ride for sure, and as long as they don't turn Denise into a cheater then I'm onboard!

[> [> I agree Jennifer, I don't want Denise to turn into an adulterer. Having Roland cheat on Joan was enought to last. This is sure to be one awesome season! -- Angela -- mommy of 2 JAGLettes, 07:27:28 06/09/08 Mon [1]

[> [> Well, I'll join in on the great discussion that's has begun here. And as usual, Jennifer has proven why she and I are Twinny's because we think alike...LOL... (Inside)... -- KH, 09:55:54 06/09/08 Mon [1]

1. Jennifer's first paragraph about Roxy sums it up very well for me, so I really don't have to much to add except...Way To Go Joan...LOL.

2. I too loved the interaction between Roland and Joan last night. I sure don't agree with what Roland did and I'm still a bit angry with him, but I was happy to see him acknowlege and take ownership of what he did and apologize to Joan for hurting her. And how far Joan has come and accepted Rolands apology so gracefully and then taking him home and telling him she want's him, when Roland asks her what she wants. She told him in simple laymans terms what she wants, but is definitely not pushing things or Roland or crowding him. I think they'll figure it out. Also, with the future episodes coming up and the scene they showed with Michael smiling at her and saying so your pregnant, and she says she's not sure if she's going to keep it, the look Michael has on his face tells me he's going to give her a piece of his mind. Especially after just losing Amanda.

3. I have to also agree with my Twinny on that there was a bit too much narrative by Pamela. I do realize what they were going for here, but it would have been nice to see a bit more interaction with all the characters and a little less talk. By the way, don't you kinda wonder what the soldier on the other side of the glass from Pamela thinks of his job on the show. Has he ever sad a single word at all...LOL. I mean, what a heck of a job, just show up and sit there and look thoughtful...Too Funny! :o)

4. What can I say about what Michael and Claudia Joy are going through...I'm speechless. My Twinny called me last night after the show and we both were just like WOW! That's all we could basically say. I was still a bit choked up from the ending and I think Jennifer could tell it in my voice. I have two daughters, one that just graduated from college and one that just finished her first year of college. And boy could I have put myself in their shoes. I felt their loss within the deepest part of me and still get weepy thinking about it today. I cried right along with them long after the show was done. And what an amazing job Brian McNamara did during that emotional scene. My heart was breaking. It's gonna be a tough road for the Holden family and I'm sure the writers will do an amazing job writing it out.

5. Okay, of course I saved the best for last...Denise...LOL. I know I'm biased, but I have to comment again on what a fine actress Catherine is. She just keeps getting better and better. I love that Denise went back to nursing and I love the warm and caring bedside manner she portrays to her patients and to her friends. What Denise said to the other nurse in Betty's room was so true and heartfelt and then the emotional and caring way she said Betty's first name and her facial expression spoke volumes. Love love love her interaction with Roland and the 3 Denises...LOL. I was so happy for her when Jeremy came home and you could just feel the love and relief there when they were hugging each other. The smile on Jeremy's face was like "yeah, I'm home and my mom loves me." They've come a long way...Good Stuff!

Overall just an amazing episode and I am already waiting and anticipating next weeks show. Hang onto your hats everyone, I think we are in for one heck of a ride with this wonderful show. Take Care! :o)

[> [> [> I know I forgot one of my favorite parts was when Pamela brought Denise over to Roxy's, & Denise said to Roxy 'you didn't call me...' Roxy needs to learn from the seasoned wives how to act, & I hope she will learn & start acting appropriately. Of course Denise is worried about Frank, her line "as soon as he is out of my sight" sums it up, but like she said, no use worrying about things that haven't happened. Live for the moment, pray for their safety, & god willing they will come home safe & sound. -- Jennifer, 11:23:38 06/09/08 Mon [1]

[> [> [> [> I agree I loved all of this episode although it was Pamela heavy. I am totally on-board as long as Denise stays faithful. I am not necessarily fond of Frank, but that has nothing to do with fidelity. -- Cristina, 15:53:42 06/13/08 Fri [1]

[> [> [> [> [> Hey Cristina!! How's it going? Welcome! I agree with you on Denise, I don't think its in her make-up to be unfaithful, even though she is changing & evolving. She gave Roland such a hard time & very much disapproved of his affair. If she did have one, it would make her very much a hypocrite. -- Jennifer, 08:37:07 06/16/08 Mon [1]

[> What a well written kaleidoscope. I liked how they interwove the different scenes. Well written, well executed and very powerful! Kudos. (Inside) -- Jubellant, 10:31:15 06/09/08 Mon [1]

I liked the narrative as I think we will be hearing from everyone in the following episodes. It was kind of fitting that Pamela do this as it was too soon for the others to be verbalizing about everything. They have a lot to digest here and probably were still in shock. Pamela's guilt was interesting. I had not thought of that angle.

I didn't remember seeing any bruises last year on Marilyn and had to go back and check and as far as I can tell I do not see any neck bruises like appeared for the season opener.

Like the way Joan took charge at the hospital when Roland was being interogated. Also appreciated the firm but caring tone she adopted with Roxie. Roxie was spinning out of control and her habit of marching up to whomever is in charge to attend to her needs is a bit much. Imagine if every army wive did this!

Roland is always looking out for Denise. He encouraged her with her nursing and snapped her out of her frozen mode to save her life. Wonder how Amanda's death will be dealt with by Jeremy. Will his anger return? I still think that whole thing was wrapped up too tidily with him never really getting at the base of his actions.

I agree with KH on with what Michael will probably say to Joan re: her pregnancy. This is going to hit him hard.

Poor Claudia Joy, 3 great traumas in her life her vehicular incident, her hostage affair, and now Amanada's passing. I've met people who have taken multiple hits in life and it amazes me how they keep going. Many start questioning their faith after awhile. She's going to really need her friends and I think her marriage will also be tested. There probably will be a lot of supressed anger on Michael's part as to why they were there in the first place.

I liked the mental gymnastics and that this episode just wasn't played out in a chronological fashion. I felt it added to the suspense and drama.

Well Season Two started off with a bang. I can't wait to see where we are headed next. The next few episodes are going to be intense and then as in life they will carry on.

I hope that Betty makes it and glad to see Roxie is still in touch with her Mom. The jury is out on the new Emmalin.

I think Denise will become more of a risk taker after her close brush with death. She will be the only wife that will be living alone. I assume Jeremy will not be home for long. The other's have spouses or children. I think she will do the right thing in the end but will be tempted. Or have her friendship be misinterpreted.

[> Emmalin -- Cristina, 13:13:35 06/13/08 Fri [1]

Has anyone said anything about there being a new actress playing Emmalin? Does anyone know why?

Sorry I am new on this board. I have been on the Mac Board often, but never visted here.

[> [> Welcome Christina! Last Oct. TV Guide's Ausiello had reported a recasting call for Emmalin with a promise to follow-up but never did. Haven't found a reason for the change yet. -- Jubellant, 14:44:48 06/13/08 Fri [1]
