Subject: Yep, snoozer is a pretty accurate description. I'm getting a little tired of all the narration, was that a feature of the first series...I can't remember ? I hope they don't go too far down the war zone route, as this is supposed to be Army Wives, not The Unit, altho' I'd be interested in seeing a little more of Frank's character. Hmmm not a great deal to talk about really, liked the Dee/Frank phonecall and how gutted he looked when he hung up, liked Denise's uncertainty and almost akwardness in admitting she didn't know how to handle things with CJ, it was honest and showed vulnerability. (I'm over..see inside...)
In reply to: Jennifer 's message, "Episode Two has come & gone....Comments, questions, other observations??" on 08:28:52 06/16/08 Mon

I had been worried that the new Denise would start to become too like all the other strong women CB plays.....iyswim.
I'm liking Joan much more in this series, she just seems so poised but not cold as in the previous series, altho' can they really brush Roland's affair under the rug that easily?
Claudia Joy's lips are looking a little odd, I thought it was just that she'd been crying....but I guess not :/

Jennifer, how do you manage to fit all that text in the message box!?

[> I get your point about this epi, After last week, to have another heavy emotional show would have been too much. I guess it sort of parallels life, you are sort of in a fog just going through the motions. (Inside) -- Jubellant, 12:51:48 06/16/08 Mon [1]

It gave one the chance to deflate step back and see everyone's private hell. I know a few people who have lost children suddenly in their teens and it is devastating. It just seemed like everyone was walking on eggshells here and I guess that's why the epi had a sort of in limbo feel to it. There was so much to be said but no one knew how to say it.

Roxie was just being Roxie. I know people like that who just charge through life. Half the time you just sit there with your mouth hanging open watching them but they do get things done! I would have liked to see more Denise/Jeremy scenes instead of getting a little insight from Frank. I can't wait to see more Denise/Frank interactions. I just find this couple interesting in that they love each other but haven't really deeply connected on some levels. I can't wait for the Denise storyline to unfold. I like the direction Joan and Roland's relationship is going. Though he said he would stay with Joan even if she aborted their baby, this did not ring true to me unless they planned to adopt.

There is usually a 'strong' one in devastating circumstances to try and bring normalcy back to an unnatural circumstance. Michael was trying to be the rock of the family though he was obviously very deeply affected. I think he and CJ have left a lot unsaid. As for Emmalin, the jury is still out. Her performance didn't grab me, and not just because she was a replacement.

As for Chase, except when he apologized to Pamela after the surrogate incident, I find that he manages to shift things to his perspective often. Like the radio sex talk it was think about how I feel, would you like if I talked like that about you on the radio? Then, this week it was think about how he felt, not being able to call. It was fine when his buddies gave him props but not when his wife was proud of her sexy hubby and it was fine when he had control over calling her but not when he didn't?

I thought cantankerous Betty was spot on.

Trevor's bit seemed out of context as it was not centered on the bomb aftermath but more on his experiences to date. I don't think tell it like it is Roxie, will appreciate the too fluffy everything is fine letters that much.

I can't wait to see Denise do her thing and to find out who we will get to dislike this season. With both gossipy Marilyn and Lenore gone there has to be someone new on the horizon! Things will probably start to pick up by the end of next week's episode.
