Subject: I think Frank's talk with the soldier's father started Frank to the realization that even though he may not like things Jeremy has done, he is still his son. I don't think Frank knows how to express his love for Jeremy to Jeremy b/c the card was typewritten all the way down to the signature. Even if he had typed the main message cuz his handwriting his bad, he could have handwritten the signature. Didn't register Amanda's my mother statement, but did notice Michael seemed like he felt terribly helpless & didn't know what to say or do.
In reply to: Jennifer (Twinny call if you can!!) 's message, "I loved the scene at Roxy's party...where Denise stated what we all know....that she's tired of being a doormat, & that its time for Denise to find Denise. When the bus pulled away at the end, I just knew Denise was going to be there...even if Jeremy didn't see his Mom, she was there. I loved it when Denise went to see Jeremy at the gazebo, & he broke down telling her that he wanted to make her proud of him again & she didn't miss a beat in telling him that she WAS proud of him. Despite his abusiveness towards her, Denise has forgiven him. It shows a great sense of strength from Denise, strength she probably didn't know she had. And when she started carting Jeremy's stuff back in, the look she shot to Frank was like "don't even try & stop me..." Inside..." on 07:40:27 07/16/07 Mon

[> [> [> Frank's note could have been something he ordered while he was overseas. Wasn't there a gift of some kind w/ it? I kind of missed the details of that scene. But I still think you're right about Frank not being able to express his love. The best he can do is say he's proud. And the scene w/ the fallen soldier's Dad was meant to get him thinking about what's really important to him. He'll be watching over Jeremy now that he's in the Army. What crisis awaits, do you think? -- judy, 09:07:44 07/17/07 Tue [1]

[> [> [> [> I don't care for Frank, but I do think he can express love a little better than what is said above. He's certainly open with Denise, but with Jeremy he told him he missed him when he was gone, and was happy to see him etc. That is, until Jeremy told him what he'd done to Denise. -- Theresa, 09:54:29 07/17/07 Tue [1]

[> [> [> [> Huumm, what crisis?? We know Jeremy has to go through basic training & guess it's in SC, at Ft. Jackson, in Columbia. So, he could get his tail whipped by another recruit. I kinda see Jeremy being a bit like Denise -- he's always been Major Sherwood's son, & is looking for his identity, along with escaping his past. Yes, I think he's running away to an extent, but he has also been pushed away, too. Here's hoping he is on his way to becoming a better person. -- Texasbrat, 11:04:49 07/17/07 Tue [1]
