Volunteerism is very important to both of these women, and they promote helping others through their pageants. They have the Eastern Maine pageant in April for girls and women who live or go to school in school Aroostook, Hancock, Penobscot, Piscataquis, or Washington County, Maine. Jayna and Dawn also organize a smaller, local pageant called Miss St. Croix Valley for girls 5-18 who live in Washington County, Maine and Charlotte County, New Brunswick, helping them to build self-confidence and develop their speaking ability, all while promoting volunteerism. This pageant is coming up on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at Woodland Elementary School in Baileyville. Obviously, this is a local pageant, and many people reading this are not eligible to enter, but I'm sure they would love to have Queens come make appearances. For more information and photos, go to:

Both pageants are run completely by volunteers, but have a "professional" feel about them because the sound person is a professional who donates his time and use of equipment, experienced judges come from outside the local area, and Jayna and Dawn are dedicated to making their pageants a great experience. I highly recommend checking out the St. Croix Valley and Eastern Maine Pageants!
