There is a pageant in Eastport on Tuesday, July 3rd, at 12 noon, at the overlook park (down town Eastport). The age catagories are Little Miss 5-8; Junior Miss 9-13 and Miss 14-18 (I am the reigning Miss Queen). The pageant is held outside overlooking the water. For this pageant there is only formal wear. Everyone says their name, age and where they are from. There is no beauty walk you just line up on the stage. In the Miss Division you answer a question. Last year the question was "what does the 4th of July mean to you?". The pageant is FREE to enter! There is no one to contact. You just show up at 11:30 and sign up! Again, I am sorry for the late notice.

Hi Sherry, We've never met, but I'd like to say first of all that I think it's great that you've encouraged your daughter to be involved in helping those less fortunate! It is wonderful to teach children to care about the world around them!

Secondly, I still don't understand what all the fuss was about on another board when you posted asking the price for coaching. When someone is in business, they should expect questions. You apologized when things got out of hand, and it sounded sincere to me. I think the moderator of this board was right in saying there is jealousy towards your daughter. Not everyone is going to like everyone else, but the comments out there about people "helping to bring you down" are terrible and uncalled for.

Finally, so what if you work in a family business. Many people do.

Best of luck to you and your daughter! Please don't let all the negativity get to you!

I am quite certain that Erin and/or Shaenen have A LOT to do with it, as Sherry and Taylor were being mentioned constantly, as well as Corrie Marie Bernatch. Therefore, I am making a decision to have each post approved before these immature people ruin things. Thanks for your understanding and keep the positive posts coming!

"There's royal intrigue at the Munge Potato Festival, with Queen Allison Nowicki protesting her ouster over claims of playing hooky. With only 6 weeks left in her reign, she received a letter from the festival committee saying it was dethroning her for failure to attend enough events as queen. Not so, says Nowicki, who appeared at the Miss Bay Coundy Pageant, St. Johns Mint Festival, Bay County Fair, Montrose Blueberry Festival, and Linwood Pickle Festival."

My question, what appearances to Maine queens make? Are they required, encouraged, or optional?
