These are just some of our prizes!!!
Spring Fling was designed based on this tough economy. A pageant where you don’t have to spend a fortune to win a title, a satin embroidered sash, a custom crown, great prizes as well as have a great time at our big party with Justin!
We have 16 age divisions and a min. of 3 queens PER Division PLUS the Grand Supreme, Most Beautiful Queens, Talent Queens, Photogenic Queens and more
EVERY division will have an Age Div Supreme, a Beauty Winner and a Princess – ALL 16 divisions. In the 0-12 divisions they are split between natural and Glitz and NO titles are combined between Glitz and Natural, scores are never compared
Beauty - $125
Talent OR Holiday wear - $50
Outfit of Choice - $50
Photogenic - $50 (does NOT count to supreme score, used for Photogenic titles only – we will recognize age division winners/runner-up for this event though)
Registration fee = $25 (Includes 1 guest admission pass and our party)
THAT’s IT – low low costs – no need to spend $400 + on a pageant during these tough economic times

* Not smiling
* Dresses that are inappropriate for your age or have hoops, trains, gloves, hats, or adult jewelry.
* Dresses that don't meet the requirements stated in your information packets. Either too long and draging on the floor or too short.
* Too much makeup (You want natural looking makeup)
* Walking too fast or not fast enough. (Be confident, but natural!)
* Never making eye contact with judges and/or audience.
* Looking back or being impatient.
* Waving or blowing kisses (unless you are under the age of 5).
* Glitter in your hair or on your body.
* Wearing shoes that are uncomfortable and cause you to walk awkwardly.
* Playing with jewelry, hair, microphone cord, or dress
* Slumping instead of standing with good posture and feet in proper stance.
* Chewing gum.

It ' s interesting that your success is coming at a time when the Miss America pageant devolved into a reality show, scrambling to find a network.
It's funny how you mention that. There's a fine line between protecting a tradition and embracing the history, and making it contemporary enough to where people are still interested. With Miss America, it's really unfortunate, because it is a very recognizable, important brand that trains and promotes a lot of women. And their ideas seem to have just gotten lost.

Subject: LaPetite, Pre-teen, and Teen International Pageants were Saturday night. |
Author: Congratulations to all! [ Edit | View ]
|
Date Posted: 12:44:55 07/28/08 Mon
The 21st Annual LaPetite, Pre-teen, and Teen International Pageant was held on Saturday in Calais. Girls from age 4-16 from both Maine and New Brunswick competed. From beginning to end, it was a wonderful experience for the girls, and the show was great! This year, all funds raised from the pageant were donated to Hospice.
Pageant Director Barbara Lara, who has been teaching dance for more than 40 years, choreographed two opening production numbers: one for the LaPetite contestants, who were adorable, and the second for the Pre-teens and Teens, who were looking cool! All of the girls did a great job, and those of us in the audience could tell they were having fun!
Contestants were judged on interview earlier in the day. The evening competition included casual wear modeling, formal wear, and for the pre-teens and teens, an on-stage question.
For the first time at this pageant, contestants had the option of competing in talent.
While waiting for the scores to be tallied, Barbara Lara and husband Jose wowed the audience with their dance skills. Barbara's granddaughter Micalah performed a cute hip-hop routine. (It should be noted that while Micalah has competed in pageants in the past, her grandmother does not feel it is appropriate for her to compete at a pageant directed by a relative.) Micalah served as an official representative for Hospice and wore a tiara which had been won by her mother, who passed away last year.
We were also entertained by the amazing singing of last year's Miss Teen International Breanna Beal and the fast tapping feet of Ms Eastern Maine Talent Queen, Eryn Crowe. Both these young ladies should compete at Miss Maine America next summer.
If I'm forgetting anyone, I apologize. It was a great night of pageantry and entertainment. ALL of the girls who competed should be congratulate for doing a fabulous job!
Because talent was optional, it was scored by a different panel of judges than the pageant itself.
The winners were:
LaPetite Pageant & Talent Queens (same winners for both!)
2nd RU Myka Clark
1st RU Haley Smith
Miss LaPetite International
Micalah Farrington
Pre-teen Talent
2nd RU Sarah Mullen
1st RU Hannah Sivret
Pre-teen Talent Queen
Marina Farrington
Pre-teen Pageant
2nd RU Sarah Mullen
1st RU Hannah Sivret
Miss Pre-teen International
Aveena Viscardo (SP?)
Teen Talent
1st RU Ashley Lord
Teen Talent Queen
Kristen Paul
Teen Pageant
2nd RU Jessica Murray
1st RU Sarah Bailey
Miss Teen International
Ashley Melhieser
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE QUEENS, RUNNERS-UP, AND EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED! It was a great pageant for a wonderful cause. Enjoy the rest of the International Homecoming Festival!

Crown Productions to Produce Miss Teen All American® Pageant
New York, NY - During a gathering of friends at Strada 57 in mid-town Manhattan, Frank Sweeney, chairman of the Sweeny Group, was pleased to announce that Crown Productions of New Castle, DE has acquired the rights to produce the Miss Teen All American® Pageant. Teen All American®, one of the country's most popular and celebrated pageants for young women, was founded in 1977 by pageant industry legend, Frank Sweeney.
Fred Wright, president of Crown Productions, Inc., will take over as President and CEO of the pageant. Sweeney will remain as chairman of the board. Wright has a rich pageant history with Crown Productions since 1990, having served as the director of state-level preliminaries to Miss USA®, Miss Teen USA®, and Mrs. America in Delaware, Connecticut, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Wright's diverse experience and impeccable reputation made him an ideal candidate to take over the national pageant organization. "We are thrilled to continue the tradition of pure pageantry," Wright said.
Miss Teen All American® is a unique pageant competition, because contestants, in many cases, represent population centers rather than state boundaries. The pageant was created to emphasize poise, personality and God-given beauty. Contestants will be evaluated in three categories: interview, swimsuit, evening gown.
Miss Teen All American® is open to young women all across the country between the ages of 13 and 19. Many national winners have a history of going on to success in modeling, acting and other major pageants. Some famous Teen All American winners include:
Oscar Winner Halle Berry (1985)
Reality Show Star and former Miss USA Shana Moakler (1993)
Soap Opera Actress Susan Walters (1981)
Soap Opera Actress Tonja Walker (1979)
"Queen for a Day" is the official charity of the Teen All American Pageant. Founded by Jenna Edwards, who wore the Miss Teen All American crown in 1999, "Queen for a Day" is dedicated to making life a little bit easier for seriously ill children.
Teen All American® state and regional pageants begin in September 2008, with the national competition planned for August 2009. For more information on the Miss Teen All American® Pageant, please visit http://www.teenallamerican.com, or contact Fred Wright, at fred@teenallamerican.com, or 302-221-5587.

We can't afford to do two different systems, and she really wants to get involved with pageants, having a cousin who's done them. We'd like to do two or three pageants a year, and I've been told that it's best to stick with one system so that she can learn about what's expected. Can anyone share their experience or advice? Five BIG Red Flags...
How do you know if a certain pageant has honorable intentions? Fortunately, "big red flags" exist in unscrupulous pageants. Do your homework by staying alert and noticing obvious red flags:
ADULT CLOTHES, ADULT HAIR, AND ADULT MAKEUP IN CHILDREN'S PAGEANTS: Pageants that promot an adult look may not be healthy for your child's well-being. Most events insist on age divisions. The judges should be looking for a representative of a particular age groups, not a representative who appears 10 years older. Why else have age categories?
HIGH-PRESSURE ENROLLMENT TACTICS: Don't feel rushed into entering a pageant becaues of pressure from a pageant director. If a pageant is truly reputable, they will be happy to take the time or send detailed information to answer any questions (or address any concerns) you may have. If a pageant is pressuring people to enter at the last minute, and accepting late entries, you can almost bet that the pageant will be disorganized with lengthy delays. There should never be a reason for you to rush an enrollment (unless you waited until the last minute).
A DISORGANIZED PAGEANT: A professionally-produced pageant is well organized, becuase they do things months in advance. A problem with a disorganized pageant is that contestants spend a lot of time hurrying then waiting. Although some degree of "hurry up and wait" exists with most pageants, disorganized pageant have an intolerable degree which leads participants to feel agitated and grouchy. Some disorganized directors further hinder their participants by having children stand on stage in long line-ups or by expecting them to compete beyond a reasonable hour well past bedtime.
BIASED JUDGES: Whenever possible, local pageants should have judges from another city and out-of-state judges for a state competition. Also, a judge should have no affiliation with any of the participants in any way.
AUTOMATIC CROWNS OR TROPHIES TO EACH PARTICIPANT: As a parent you should want your child to learn that a crown or trophy, like anything else in life worth working for, must be earned. A small trophy, plaque, or certificate clearly marked "participation award" is acceptable, but otherwise, crowns and trophies should be reserved for the true pageant winner if the meaning of "winner" is to be preserved.
