Subject: It was clear to me that Casey needed to get out from under Love's thumb, but I didn't like the idea at all of his being removed from his wife. I felt it would fit right into Love's plan to divide and conquer. The two of them (C & P) together are a formidable couple, but when they're apart, well, just look at what happened to Pamela whenever Casey left her in Unicorns. She's a smart gal but I think she's vulnerable when she's entirely on her own. I remember upon my first read that I wished they'd just high-tail it back to Ireland right here and now. But then Casey does want to give his wife the opportunity to thrive in her best environment, so I can sorta see his motivation.

  • Trust - he trusts her, especially after all they've been through he has no reason to doubt she'll keep pushing away Love's advances. In the mean time she can thrive at her job and he can get away to think and let some of the heat regarding him die down. I do wonder though (sorry jumpin ahead a bit)>>>> -- CindyS, 12:13:33 07/29/09 Wed
  • Oh I know he trusts her, but he shouldn't trust Hagerty. However, it's already been 'splained that he's in over his head & not making very good decisions. Really, for him to even think that he would be safe to just "walk away" from working for a mobster was a bit naive, in my opinion. He seemed to take the dangers of IRA more seriously than the Irish Mob. (NT) -- Tess, 12:26:20 07/29/09 Wed
