Subject: Sportmanship

My daughter is fairly new to Irish dancing although teachers say she's progressing really well and she loves it. We went to watch the older girls in her class at the weekend and I have to say I was shocked by some of the crowd. Not bothering to clap for kids who were obviously trying their heart out and sitting scowling at other dance schools. I take it this is what I should expect and it happens all the time? I hope I haven't offended anyone here, but I did feel a bit deflated afterwards.
