If you are looking for somewhere near St Andrews (which itself is lovely) before you head up north, look up the Scottish Deer Centre. We went last year and there are loads of different types of deer that you can hand feed which was amazing. There are also various other animals such as otters, brown bears, the bird of prey show was brilliant as well. Also there are really nice play areas and the cafe is pretty good too.
