As above poster said, the Marriott is within walking distance to the venue. You'll also find that taxis in Glasgow are some of the cheapest in the UK - unusually cheap for a large city.

In seeing the countryside I would recommend taking the train out to Balloch by Loch Lomond - you take a train direct from Queen St station (2 mins walk from the venue.) Also a day trip to Edinburgh would be very worthwhile, again direct from Queen St and takes around 40 mins.

There are plenty restaurants (chain ones such as Nandos, TGI Fridays and non-chain) in walking distance from the venue. www.5pm.co.uk has lots of deals you can book in advance too.

Thank you so very much. This is going to be a once in a life time experience for all of us! My husband booked at a Marriott, but he said it's about a mile away. Not sure if that is the one you are referring to (I don't relish walking one mile with all the gear on the day she dances. 😉). -- Mom, 13:04:23 12/09/15 Wed
- We attended All Scots this past february for the first time, too. It is one of the nicest cities, IMO. we were slightly under a mile away but I strongly recommend hiring a taxi the morning she dances. Less hassle! Please forgive me asking this, but she and I were discussing the trip and I said we'd have to splurge on a shirt or something as a memory and she said she thought she'd get a patch.
