Bergners will provide us with a table along with several other "kid" oriented businesses in the area to talk about, promote, offer services and encourage others to participate in CC events. They are also allowing us to hold a FASHION SHOW!!! Anyone willing to participate in the fashion show will arrive early, pick out their clothing and receive a discount on purchases made that day! What a great way to get some amazing Back to School clothes at some great discounts! If you are interested in attending this fun event, please email me asap. We can only take a limited number of children, so we will take EMAILS ONLY! We need boys too, especially for the fashion show!! DATE: Saturday * Aug 22, 2009 TIME: 10a.m. - 2:00p.m. FASHION SHOW: 1:00p.m. We will also be working with Bergners to promote their COMMUNITY DAYS coming up in Nov. Anyone willing to help out with our fundraiser will be asked to help sell coupon booklets for Bergners. Each booklet is just $5. Every coupon book has 1 coupon for $10 off your first purchase. They are doing this so they can raise money for the back to school pageant. If will be Amanda and Heavens First pageant with CC. They all have been baking for 2 days to do this. Date Posted: 13:08:39 07/24/09 Fri I'm sorry, but I cannot do the BTS pageant in Rockford for lesser entry fees. I have looked at the prizes, crowns and sashes we award and there is just no way to adjust the costs and still be able to give to our charitites. I'm just not willing to compromise the standards of my system to have one more pageant. Not to mention the fact that only 3 people have shown any interest in attending, even if we could do it cheaper. I will still have the Rockford pageant with enough entries, but paperwork stands as is. If I reduce fees for one, I have to do it for the other. The expenses just dont justify reduced fees. Those of you complaining about the fees and h/m, we probably aren't the system for you. I know it's unheard of for a director to turn down your money, but I dont need the drama that comes with it. We must have enough entered or the pageant will be cancelled. THESE WILL NOT BE RESCHEDULED and any deposits will be refunded. At this time, I do not have enough entries to hold either pageant. To Matt & Patty (www.adynamicsounddjservice.com) you went above and beyond to help with everything. From setting up to tearing down, I couldn't have done it without you both and all your help. Special thanks to our judges and tabulator for volunteering their whole Saturday to Compassionate Crowns and St. Jude. Thank you to our returning royalty: Rebecca P., Gracie S., and Dylan G. It was great having your help during crowning. I hope you like your t-shirts and custom pins, you earned them. I can't thank our fundraisers enough!! We raised $2550 for St. Jude!! I know you all put a lot of time and hard work into collecting donations for this pageant and I want each of you to know how much I appreciate your hard work. Congratulations to Kelleeann, our ELITE GRAND SUPREME winner, raising over $800 to earn her title. I would also like to thank and mention Bridgett, Kalea, Angelina, and Paige our remaining top 5 fundraisers. Thanks again to everyone for such a successful weekend! Date Posted: 09:17:11 07/17/09 Fri OK guys - Here's our next big event! Emily is sister of Jude. Jude had a stroke while he will still in his mothers womb and now has many ailments that take him in and out of the hospital. You can read Jennifer's Blog (Jude & Emily's mom) here: http://cjengo.blogspot.com/ Anyway, after many, many trips to the hospital, Emily came up with this idea of making up boxes of activities for the kids that are either patients or siblings of patients to have something to do while they are at the hospital. I have been corresponding with Jennifer and am working with her to bring her Smile Boxes to IL. It is Emily's goal to provide her hospital with 150 smile boxes at Christmas, and I would like to take up her challenge and do the same here in Peoria for OSF Children's Hospital where Central IL children are treated for cancer. I think we can meet her/my goal of donating the same amount of boxes she does and am hoping you all will help me out with this. Over the next few months, we will be asking you to provide items for these boxes. It cannot be anything with a choking hazzard and we want to put in lots of smiles!! We can do this a couple of ways, either by donations, or by simply having you bring something with you to the pageants. Then, as we get closer to the holidays, we will have a box packing party and everyone will be invited to help us fill the boxes just in time to be delivered for Christmas. Imagine how happy it would make a child spending Christmas in the hospital if they got one of Emily's Smile Boxes! I hope you will all join me in helping Emily make a difference.
