Date Posted: 19:15:59 06/23/09 Tue First off, I would like to thank everyone who has entered the 2009 IL Open State Pageant. This is to update and remind you of a few things about our system. Please be sure you read all rules at some point before you attend the pageant. They are posted on the web site under the "STATE" pageant link. I will also have a copy with me at the pageant printed on May 28, 2009. If any changes are made after this date it will only be to ADD TITLES, SPLIT DIVISONS, OR GUARANTEE BONDS. NO ONE aside from Staff and myself are to approach the judges before, during or after competition. Anyone seen speaking to judges will be disqualified. My advice is if you see a judge outside of the ballroom, turn and go the other way. I will not tolerate anyone interferring with the integrity of our pageant. Rest assured, if anyone sees you talking to a judge it will be reported. Please remember you have time limit for your on stage events. You will be called off by the emcee when your time is up. The only custom music allowed will be for talent, outfit of choice and r/w/b. Beauty will consist of slow ballad music, while every other event will have upbeat pop style music. If you have custom music for these events they must be marked with child’s name, contestant number, event and track number and must be given to me at registration. No exceptions!! Do not approach the dj with your music. In the event of any ties, the beauty score will be used to break the tie, then highest optionals. All ties will be broken. 0-2 must have a chaperone on stage at all times. Anyone over the age of two has the option of a chaperone on stage. Although not required, it is allowed. You must present your fees off certificate at registration to receive your discount. I have no record of who won what fees off. Each pageant was given different discounts according to what it cost to enter that prelim. BRING THIS CERTIFICATE WITH YOU, or you will not qualify for reduced entry fees. Please do not email me asking me to reprint one for you. Sorry for any inconvience, but it was stated right on the certificate that you needed to present it at registration in order to get your discount. You must have a door badge to enter the ballroom. This is a must for everyone! Children under 2 and contestants are exempt from needing a door badge. Door badge is good for the entire weekend and will be needed to enter the ballroom for crowning as well. There will be someone stationed at the ballroom entrance checking door badges. If you lose yours and need to purchase another one, please see them. We will have an emcee this year. Please be ready for lineup when called. We will do our best to be on time. Anyone late to stage will still be allowed to perform, but will go at the end of the current age group and will have .3 points deducted for being late per event. No cameras or video recorders allowed in the ballroom. Anyone caught taking photos or recording the pageant will be asked to leave without refund. Anyone caught bashing Compassionate Crowns or its contestants before, during or after the pageant will have their childs title revoked. Please do not say anything you would not like to hear being said about your own daughter or son. No one will leave empty handed! Everyone will recieve a goodie bag and gift just for participating.
