I thought there might be a big change here to kick off the 8th year, but nada. What gives? Surely more than four people have found entertainment here over the years?

This forum was once one of the hottest going. Come on people, say something!

Well, I should shut up or say something myself, no?

I cut my teeth as a storyteller right here, with dabeagle as my measuring stick. as well as my mentor and champion. As a story teller, he can best me with one hand behind his back.

Storytelling isn't my day job, though; it's kind of like cracking my knuckles when my mother said it would make them huge. It annoyed her and pleased me, and I find that telling stories gives me the same kick.

I know that I'm no writer, and I cringe at the word author. I'll never be either, and I don't want to be. I don't compare myself to writers or authors either, because I am what I am

That frees me from all the rules that cover writing and publishing. Who on Earth ever had the gall to write 'rules' for writing to begin with?

Publishing I can understand has rules, becaues that's business, but are there 'rules' for painting, for poetry, for photography? I don't think so. Actually, it's often the people who break all the 'rules' who achieve the most success in artistic endeavors.

I tell my Internet stories just the way I toss the bull with friends, and that shouldn't invite either questions or discussion. I like to mess with words and word meanings, spell things better than any dictionary, and say cheeseburg when cheeseburger doesn't sound right. Once it's out, there's no second chance. It's over, and you can react the way you will, but that's a personal reaction, and not worthy of public review.

That's all.

Bring it on, dabeagle!
