I can see that side, too, I can. But the fact of the matter is that the team has a contract with that venue/bar/restaurant and they expect a return on their investment. If the players aren't willing to follow through, then the team shouldn't be accepting the money.
I also understand - through much observation of my own, that these girls can get very pushy and some of the older kids can cross the line. That's something you'll run into with any group of people, though.
That's something that could be remedied with just a few after-parties a season, instead of one every night. (not to mention some social education at home, but that's another story) Other teams, too, have a roped line for the autograph table, and people aren't allowed to mingle otherwise.
Other places I've been, too, the fans wait in line until the players get their showers and are dressed, so the "we just lost" effect is lessened. But at least after they wait, they know they'll meet one or four of the guys.
My initial upset on this matter was triggered by the fans sitting at Skeeters the other night for a couple of hours who eventually threw their hands up and left disappointed. And these weren't the ones who are inappropriate with the guys.
I guess the over-all view I'm getting is that the guys chose a profession that puts them in a small public view, and while that doesn't eliminate their right to privacy, it does mean there's a reasonable expectation of annoyance on the way out of the building.
(side note: Thank you! I like it, too.)
