Chicago is a beautiful city! One of the cleanest you will ever see. While there isn't much to do in Schaumburg other than shop and eat, there is a lot to do in the city and it is safe. From Schaumburg, you can drive to a public transportation center and take the "el" subway into the city. It is only about $2/trip. This will take you into the "loop" where you can visit Grant Park, "The Bean", Maggie Daley park and more. There are world class museums and great shopping. If you'd rather you can also take Metra trains into the city, which is a nicer ride. There is also an amazing theater district and fantastic food. What more do you want? Don't believe all the press-so much is fake. It's sad.
