Ya'll Joel, it happened but like you, I was a 'late bloomer' in getting acquainted with the paddle. Again, there was no pressure or fault on your part. I understand too. I ask questions & wanted details from Rick & other guys just like you ask. Look at yourself now Joel & don't you see a different guy in a way than the Joel before last spring's school paddling?

Joel, sounds like you did too but maybe I just had a bit more success at age 9 & it took you to 17.

I am lucky Joel & do thank God for my brother & my folks. It is good that you have that bond with Kyle & I hope it lasts for both of you into old age.

Joel, that is a question that you need an answer to & have a right to ask. You sound close to your parents & I think the question needs to be addressed. There will be a void in your life into it is.

You did not hesitate facing your principal & asking for the paddle. Might not have been an easy decision but you were man enough to make it. Same with talking to your grandpa about the razor strap & stepping up to take that whipping as a learning experience. Steve told us his story about him & Jake at 15 & talking to his mom until she consented & then taking a strap whipping he wanted & felt deserved. Joel, until you have that answer from your dad or he tans you butt, there is a 'hole' in your life.

This would not be easy for either of us but I CHALLENGE you Joel...the next time you screw up & your mind say, Kyle or one of the guys would get their ass beat for doing that, you talk to your dad & convince him your butt needs a few swats & dont back down. Steve persisted & you can too. The principal hesitated & gave you a chance to back ou but you stood firm. It is time with your dad & by now, you know your bust can take it. You do that Joel & I'll even now talk to my dad about the cigarette incident at 11 that Rick took the whipping for. If you take one from your dad for the next time you screw something up & let me know, I'll own up & if dad can't at 23, Rick will whip my ass as a payback for what my 11 year old butt was due 12 years ago. For both our sakes, lets hope it does not happen but if it arises, I challenge you to stand up & take one from your dad.

Ya'll Joel & dad made my butt pay big time. That paddle seemed big to my 9 year old eyes and dad did not hold back laying me over his knee & paddling my bare bottom.
