Hey Joel--- Glad to hear that you finally told your dad about the starpping your grandpa gave you. Its most likely the dealy in reporting was why your dad did not intially believe you. IF you had shown him your blistered butt right away it would have been easier. Besides delay in reporting you took the strap, so it wasn't even at the barn when you and your dad confronted grandpa. BUT i know why you delayed reporting and you know i disagreed on your reasons, so whats done is done.

Lie detector tests? Isn't that laying it on a little 'thick' buddy? I'm an attorney and lie detector tests are not reliable and not admissable in any court of law, so police departments don't use them anymore. Its not really necessary to 'embellish' your report with this crap LOL

Hope your grandpa gets some help and hope in time you can repair the relationship.
