Okay, but day 1461 is the total number of days passed since he started writing converted to years. It isn't "four years ago". It's four years worth of days he's recorded (even though a thousand and a half years have passed for him). In the 1461st year since his unfortunate circumstance started, he writes about day 1461 since he started. What if we go backwards? Well, day 1458 he writes about 1458 years after he started. He doesn't finish his autobiography ever. He keeps on writing without termination. He continues to live each year himself, but his recording falls behind without bounds; forever.
