Just read on Regan's Twitter that she's starting a local. I think that's great! I hope Megan will consider it as well. The more formers we have involved, the better the organization will be.

there has to be enough competitive contestants to warrant so many. We are a small state . Attendance is down, event attendance by contestants is down. it spreads everyone involved too thin.we have had alot of growth. Businesses when growth is too fast or not at appropriate times fail. what really bothers me is that these boards, are in nature , a place to discuss differing opinions. which can usually be dine with out swearing or labeling complaining when all it is is an opinion, plain and simple. I said there are too many locals , not a complaint simply an onservation. and Thank-you to all local directors and titleholders that give back. it will be interesting to see how nasty things get, again. To greet the news that a former is starting up a new pageant with "there are too many locals" is a slap in the face to the former. So yes, technically, all you did was give your opinion, but it was extremely rude and in poor timing. So how should I bring it up? It was not as a direct reply as this is a forum for discussion of many topics. I did not say it to the face , in person, of a former nor anyone else starting a local. But I would , because that is my opinion. in polite society, people are entitled to opinion and can discuss same , in a logical , adult manner withour causing purposeful insult. It is not a complaint but observation and opinion. I could honestly care less because it will not change anything about my life or effect anything for me personally. No one told you you had to go to every local, but just because you can't doesn't mean you need to speak up for everyone else. I'm sure people in and around Portsmouth are happy to have a pageant there to attend. No one cares that you can't go. And yes, it most certainly WAS a complaint. you are ridiculousand clearly easily offended and sensitive. I never felt I have to go to every local nor do I or would I ...and I am only speaking for myself. But do know from conversation that many do feel this way...as were some other opinions on here . Frankly I have given more thought and time to this than I wish to. Good Luck, is that better? I truly do wish the Miss NH program to thrive, but things have gotten tougher across the board and anyone who doesn't see that , is an ostrich. Different poster here, but you seem to have a huge chip on your shoulder. This should be GOOD news and yet all you're doing is complaining about how tough it is and how horrible it is. WHY is it horrible? Is a new organization could to funnel money away from another local? Doubtful. Will a new titleholder take the spotlight from another titleholder? Doubtful. Will a new pageant drain the resources from the state pageant? No, considering each local funds itself. I really don't get the gripe, especially when you say things like "there are too many locals and it's impossible to go to everything" then try to argue that you don't feel like you have to go to everything. I think it's great for the program! For more locals to be added but not the next problem is attendance. We need to establish some sort of campaign to advertise to get more girls to compete. I think every time Miss NH speaks at a high school or middle school, she should end her talk by asking anyone who wants to consider competing in the program to either come see her or she can hand out papers with all the information on them. I also think she should advertise on college campuses. Maybe putting posters up on billboards? if the existing ones are waiting for someone to grow the program for them...then that is inherently the issue. Locals that thrive do because of a LOT of work.
