Ten university titleholders have won Miss Louisiana: Lauren Vizza, Louisiana Tech (2012); Kelsi Crain, ULM (2010); Melissa Clark, Louisiana Tech (2003); Amanda Mainard, LSU (1986); Carol Carter, LSUS (1985); Donese Worden, NLU (1980); Phyllis Kelly, Southeastern (1978); Susanne Sanders, NLSC (1968); Joy Woods, NLSC (1966); and Gail Gleason, Louisiana Tech (154).
At least 12 Miss Louisiana's, in addition to the ones who were crowned as university titleholders, held a university title: Hope Anderson, ULM (2009); Katherine Putnam, ULM (2007); Blair Abene, Southeastern (2006); Molly Causey, Louisiana Tech (2004); Faith Jenkins, Louisiana Tech (1999); Mette Boving, Louisiana Tech (1996); Tiffany Mock, NLU (1991); Catherine Teague, Louisiana Tech (1992); Elizabeth Haynes, LSU (); Patricia Brant, NLU (); Donna Holt, Louisiana College (1975); and Diana Smith, NLSC (1961). Some information is unavailable, so this list could possibly be incomplete.
Number of Miss Louisiana's who were LSU students/graduates when they won, making that school first in the ranking. Second is ULM with 12, and Louisiana Tech with 10. Four Southeastern students have been crowned Miss Louisiana, three from Centenary, two from Loyola, one from Northwestern, one from Southern, one from LSUHSC-NO, one from Louisiana College, and one from ULL. Miss Louisiana's have also come from out-of-state schools such as St. Mary's University (TX), Sam Houston State University, and Southern Methodist University, although the last to do so was in 1974.
Also the number of Miss Louisiana's who have called Shreveport home since 1950. Baton Rouge is second with twelve, then Monroe with six. Five were from Ruston, and three from Hammond. Two came from Pineville, New Orleans, and Bossier City. Finally, each of these towns and cities can claim a Miss Louisiana: Destrehan, Folsom, Haynesville, Lake Providence, Minden, New Iberia, Oak Grove, Oak Ridge, Plaquemines, Slidell, Springhill, Sulphur, Tioga, West Monroe, and Winnsboro.
