Subject: Interview Segment..who did better?

Miss Colombia's interview (part of it)
JCM - In your opinion, what would be the perfect panel of judges in the pageant?
COLOMBIA - People whose subject of knowledge is beauty. Different people have different concepts of what external and internal beauty are, therefore, it is not much about physical beauty, but rather inner beauty and how it projects in one's looks, and the positive impression you cause on other people. In conclusion, any person could be an ideal judge.

JCM - Are you going to be Miss Universe 2001?
COLOMBIA - I leave it in God's hands. I truly want to win this title, since Colombia has had only one Miss Universe. Many of our representatives were finalists but only one went all the way to win the crown. The judges and God will decide our fate.

Venezuela's

JCM - In your opinion, what would be the perfect panel of judges in the pageant?
VENEZUELA - Ordinary people chosen by luck from the streets. Just anyone. This person would have to have good intuition to be able to pick someone who's willing to work hard for a better world. I don't like, I mean, it's not that I don't like it, but I don't care to see celebrities and public figures as judges. I'd rather see a saleswoman, a businessman, all kinds of people, and people who have nothing to do with beauty pageants.

JCM - Are you going to be Miss Universe 2001?
VENEZUELA - That's what I am trying to achieve with my fellow contestants. I will do all I can to win it.

Mexico's

JCM - In your opinion, what would be the perfect panel of judges in the pageant?
MEXICO - The perfect panel of judges? It's a good question, hummm… I don't know, to me anyone could be a good judge, I mean, in my opinion different people have different points of view and opinions, and anyone's opinion is valid. I'd like to see people who love Latins (laughs), but the important thing is for us to 'deliver', show what we came here for, show sparkle and enthusiasm, this 'extra thing' judges look for, regardless of who they are.

JCM - Are you going to be Miss Universe 2001?
MEXICO - If God wishes for it, yes! I am in His hands and hope to be the chosen one if this is meant for me, then definitely it's going to be me. If not, I will keep on going, always aiming for new and exciting things in my life.

Brazil's
LA - In your opinion, what would be the perfect panel of judges in the pageant?

BRAZIL - It would have to be a mixture. The perfect panel of judges should have knowledge on beauty, intelligence and charisma. They should look for that extra spark and special charm that a Miss Universe must have. These are the characteristics that the perfect panel would look for in a winner.

LA - Are you going to be Miss Universe 2001?
BRAZIL - I think that there are many strong candidates, but it is a dream of mine, and I believe that dreams do come true.

Puerto Rico's

GB - In your opinion, what would be the perfect panel of judges in the pageant?
PUERTO RICO - I think that any panel would be good as long as it’s professional in different phases. I understand, though, that it should be very varied. It should consist of experts in fashion, style, inner beauty. Another good choice would be an expert in law and diplomacy or other professions that would help them to evaluate not just one aspect but many aspects of the delegates.

GB - Are you going to be Miss Universe 2001?
PUERTO RICO - Yes! With God’s help.
