Can someone please let me know what are the rules regarding make up and solo costumes in CRN. I was at a feis recently and witnessed a girl dancing under 9 in Ullmuchan wearing full makeup and fake tan. Is this allowed. Please help. Really confused mum

Attn All Australian Irish Dancers - We are looking for interested people who want to help develop an Open Platform Irish Dance community within Australia. The worldwide Open Platform Irish Dancing scene is supportive and friendly and we way to see Open Platform flourish in Australia.
The establishment of a successful Open Platform feis circuit would fulfil a dream of ours.
Open Platform offers many opportunities including digital feis (for dancers too far away to attend a regular feis), adult championships and open workshops without the restraints of association rules.
There are currently 2 CRN members in Australia based in Perth and Newcastle. Our Perth member is particularly interested in hearing from any ex competitive Irish Dancers or independent Irish Dancing schools who want to help to really get Open Platform going in our isolated city, but regardless of where you are based we would love to hear from you.

RESEARCH TAKING PLACE IN LONDON JUNE-JULY 2012
You are invited to participate in a thesis study for Trinity Laban that involves the investigation of the landing mechanics of Irish dancers. The study will be taking place in June-July 2012 in Kingston upon Thames (KT1 1LQ) London. Interested dancers must be age 16+ and currently training for a national event (ie the British Nationals) or performing with a professional show. Objectives: This study aims to identify the landing strategies used by Irish dancers when landing from large leaps. These landing strategies differ from other styles of dance. It is these differences that make us unique as Irish dancers but potentially susceptible to different injuries. The objective of this study is to calculate the lower leg mechanics to assess the injury potential and compare the landing to other dance styles. 3D motion capture and force plate technology will be used to analyze your movements and then they will be compared to other dance styles and assessed for injury potential.
Expected Benefits: You will gain knowledge in the field of Dance Science and Biomechanics. You will learn about 3D motion capture and your own personal technique. You will have access to all of your own data and VIDEO for personal reference to enhance your dance training and potentially prevent future injuries. Irish dancing is an understudied area of Dance Science. This study will contribute to the knowledge of Irish dancing and the landing mechanics of dancers. You will be partaking in a new and exciting study using the latest technology.
