The venue for the 2013 Western Europe TCRG,TMRF and Grade examinations has been finalised and a contract signed.
The dates are May 4th and 5th 2013 and the venue is the Van Der Valk Hotel, Nijmeegseweg 90, 5916PT Venlo.,Netherlands.

I was looking into schools with CDA, CAID, CRDM and some others and noticed the same schools appearing on multiple irish dance competition organization websites.
It would list the teacher and have the organizations certification label next to them.
How can this be? Can a person become a member of more than one organization at a time?
It could be a good thing. Organizations are getting their dues but not locking in the members to only their organization.
In a way "Closed" organizations could technically be "Open" by incorporating that system. Just think about that possibility! If you wanted to dance with a closed organization you would have to pay their yearly fee, but you could dance anywhere thou.
I find this really interesting.

It's a great time to list items that you might clear out and earn a bit of cash for the holidays. Also, a great place to shop. There are tiaras and other things for sale on the site as well. All businesses are welcome to add listings as well. The goal of the site is to help Irish dance families have a place to sell their items without having to pay to have them listed. We all spend enough for ID, so hopefully this helps families save some.

AUDITION FOR FOOTSTORM!!!!!

The producers of Footstorm are now beginning their search for a premiere cast to launch the show in 2013. This will be a unique opportunity for Irish dancers to perform in the show alongside the original Prodijig cast. Auditions will be taking place in December and dancers of all levels are invited to send an application with a view to attending a live audition on the following dates:
Monday 17th December - Belfast
Wednesday 19th December - London
Thursday 20th December - Birmingham
Dublin (to be confirmed)

The North Leinster Regional Championships CRN (Cumann Rince Naisiunta) will be held this weekend in Kettles Hotel, Kilsallaghan, County Dublin.
Any person that qualifies for their Priomh Duais will also be qualified for the American National Championships and The Irish Open Championships.

Congratulations to Amanda and Sophia(both Michigan,US)and Caitlin (County Offaly, Ireland = Contae Uíbh Fhailí), three newly certified full TCRGs. Congratulation to the many other candidates who successfully completed TCRG Part 1, TCRG Part 2, TMRF Part 1 and TMRF Part 2.
A special thank you to the host who did a superior job of hosting,organizing and presenting the event. Her contribution of hosting and preparing study guides to the candidates contributed to the success of all who participated. No one who attempted a Teacher test failed to pass, a completely successful event.
Big kudos to the Examiners who presented a FANTASTIC one day workshop as well as doing all the examinations. The workshop was a terrific experience that far exceeded anyone's expectations and was "a Godsend","awesome," "mind blowing," and more such comments according to those who partook.
The examiners have really set the bar high for the next WIDA Teacher Certification Exams in North America. And the buzz from those planning the next phases was excited. Several candidates who were ambivalent about taking the next level exams are now saying they can't wait for the opportunity and have determined to begin study in hopes of completing the next phase or phases next year. Several candidates stated that they never would have been able to afford the time or money for the event if it hadn't been hosted in middle America so close to centralized North American major transportation hubs of Toronto and Detroit/Chicago.
WIDA was so wise to follow the example of major US and Canadian corporations that locate their training centers in the same area for cost savings and ready access.
WOW, if you have ever considered even starting the Grade or Certification process, if this is typical, I suggest you go for it at the earliest opportunity.

World Irish Dance Association (WIDA) TCRG or TMRF Teacher Exams, November 16-18, 2012 in Fergus, Ontario, Canada (about 1.5 hours west of Toronto)
At the moment there are 9 people registered to take 28 Exam Parts. There are still a few spaces available for those who are interested.
In WIDA, teacher candidates may complete any number of exam parts on any given Examination day. Although Exam parts must be done sequentially ie. Part 2 can not be tried until Part 1 is passed.
TCRG Exams = Solo Dancing / Teaching Solo Dance
TMRF Exams = Ceili Calling or Ceili Instruction
To become a WIDA Adjudicator the teacher must hold certification in both TCRG and TMRF qualifications.
