Subject: Opidf - age groups in championships - when will they change to make it fair on all dancers?

Opidf always do double age groups which is really unfair on the younger children in each age groups who have to compete against others with up to 2 years more experience than them. This year opidf did 'even' age groups - u8, u10, u12 etc and if they had stuck with them next year it would have given the youngest in the groups a year to shine but opidf are now going to 'odd' age groups - u9, u11, u13 etc. Why change the age groups? It just makes it very unfair on some of the children! I thought opidf was all about fairness but they seem to change things to suit them without thinking how they affect the dancers. Its very disheartening for a just turned (dec bday) 13year old to be dancing in u14 with a just turned 15year old (jan bday) for example!
Wida, clrg, an comhdhail etc all dance single age groups. Opidf have more than enough dancers to do this at their championship feis'! Please opidf change for fairness of all before kids get too disheartened and give up something they love! You'll hold a world championship group with 3 dancers but not split a normal championship - doesn't make sense.
Your website says that your organisation is run fairly and ensures equal chance for dancers to achieve their potential
but this isn't the case and can be so easily rectified! Your organisation is now growing and feis' have huge numbers. There is no reason or need to keep double age groups. Please start following in the larger organisatiins footsteps!
