Hello My name is Donathon. My dad is a Lumberton police officer in Texas. I just wanted to tell you the truth about police cars I ride in them almost every day. People think they will out run anything, well they wont. The most one around here has went was in between 143-148 somewhere in that range. They use Ford Crown Vics. With Police interceptors. It got up to that speed in a chase on a open highway for about 6 miles. Their acceleration is good and i'm here to say the specs you see over ther internet are not real.I'm telling you first hand what I see almost everyday. The motor is loud when accelerating and the speed ometer moves fast until about 120 it gets fairly slow but speeds back up i'm not sure exactly why the newer radars will tell you your exact speed at a high speed but the newer ones only go to 80 and cut off. But it will clock somebody up 999 mph. My dads car which is the one that got up to that speed had the older type radar thats how he could tell how fast he was going when the speedometer banked out at 140mph. Now he has a newer one. But it is rare that you have to go fast enough to make the speed ometer touch 140mph the maximum. I have also noticed when you are accelerating fast the motor is too powerful for the rest of the componets so the belts squeak when i changes gears but it still works. And the tires are Firestone Firehawks an are rated for 149+. But always remembr if something happens and yo can out run the car you cant ot run the radio. And just remember i'm not kidding or lying about any of this I ride all the time 5 days a week. I want to thank you for reading all of this message.
