I saw that car at the show, it normally shows every year. I've always thought it great that the county kept it. I would not say the car needs to be "redone". There are some minor things that need attention, a touch of rust in the corner of the rear window, a small dent in the lower right front fender and door. Chrome is good with only a little bit of weathering starting to show. Interior is perfect. Paint is excellent, shines great and is smooth. You can tell the car has been cared for. Wish I could looked at the Polara for sale. I saw it briefly but was busy working the parking and when I went to look for it, it was gone.
I also was talking to a guy who said he was being given a "big block Mopar Police Car". He did not know what model or year. The person giving him the car said it has been sitting around with everything intact including the cage. Says its Black/White with the agency markings removed or painted over. The only thing missing was the engine. He's new to the Cop Car restoration thing but said he was going to try and have it restored for next years show. I told him about this site so he might be showing up here.

Question for the group. Is there really any point in trying to salvage a police car that has no engine and drive train? (NT)I.N. Query11:40:53 07/22/02 Mon
