As a mother of a potential contestant I googled Miss Ky and found this. Let me just begin by saying I think some of your ideas for recruiting are very good ones. I think you are heading in the right direction with those ideas. I am a high school guidance counselor and have young women inquire frequently about scholarships and it could possibly be a wonderful idea to partner with local schools and guidance counselors to at least provide them with more information. My hinderance with allowing my daughter to compete was 1. Cost 2. Stories you hear as a bystander. I will say that some posts on this page are lewd and very cruel. If you truly want to recruit new girls and you truly want the system to grow, my suggestion would be to quit acting like it's the end of the world when you don't win and immediately jumping on here to bash others. Some of the things I have read on here have been horrible. That alone will push any "newbie" as you call them away. I hope my next google search helps provide some positive light.
