Ann when should a person start doing that? (at what age?) My aunt just had to have a colonoscopy because she was SEVERLY anemic (normal count is something like 12 and at 7 they give transfusions and she was at 4 with NO symptoms what-so-ever) She was dreading it but said it turned out to be not that bad. She said she found the key to drinking the stuff they make you drink (okay bad sentence there!) was to put some power Country Time lemonade on her tonge. She said by doing that she ended up with no troubles getting the fluid down. So there is some more advice for everyone!

I am so glad you are okay and it was nothing major! HUGS!

I know I'll have to get a colonoscapy before I turn 50.(I just turned 31) My Grandfather died from colon cancer, my father had it(he only got cheched when my grandfather died. He was 47) but it was caught early enough) Then this summer my aunt on my mother's side was diagnosed with colon cancer. She had been sick for a while before they figured out what it was. We all felt bad because she's always been a hypochondriac and we thought it was nothing. She's lucky. They removed a good portion of her colon and she didn't need a bag(sorry, I don't remember the medical term) My family just isn't healthy. We have that, my grandmother died from lung cancer(of couse she smoked for years) my mother has Lupus and a thyroid problem, my aunt has a thyroid problem(opposite than my mother)and had 2 small heart attacks(their 54) my father has heart problems, I have a heart block and have had a stroke. It seems every time I go to the doctors I have to update my family medical report.
