Yes sure sounds like we're going to need it.

Until be get to a unified global banking system and defined interactions, each "weak domino" is at risk. Tho from what I know, it's likely many many years away.

Though internet run using bit coins etc will help drive it.

Unfortunately, I think the big banks, won't react well. (they just have too much legacy infrastructure and banking legislation)

Kinda like rail, when airplanes came along. There'll still be a (smaller) place for mainstream banks (like big biz) but a lot of people would certainly rather "take off" from them into better/quicker/cheaper, if there's a reasonable alternative. (which isn't here yet:(
