| For this millennium, cannot think of any 1st RUs that were not deserving, even if I did not have them that high. But for as at 4ths, yes, most recently Margana Wood for 2018. I had Margana winning (esp after LA & AL were cut. Those were my top 3, so very surprised). Before that, Emoly West, Yanci Yarbrough, and maybe Nicole Lamarche come to mind. - I never could figure out why Yanci did not win. (NT) -- No name, 16:43:36 01/30/26 Fri (133-111-106-149.in-addr.arpa.pulsefiber.org/149.106.111.133)
- Because Heather French NAILED her final onstage interview with Marie Osmond. There aren't many times when I pick the same winner that the judges do, but that year I definitely picked Heather. Her talent was good, she had won preliminary swimsuit, and her gown was gorgeous. After that final interview, I felt that she had also had a great private interview with the judges. - She certainly did. Others I felt nailed their final onstage interview are Katy Harman and Leanza Cornett. (NT) -- No name, 09:49:41 02/08/26 Sun (NoHost/212.15.84.99)
- So did Kate Shindle. No way did she beat Michelle Warren in the other onstage questions. But she definitely won interview & onstage question, though Michelle's onstage question was good enough. (NT) -- No name, 20:39:24 02/16/26 Mon (syn-107-013-036-240.res.spectrum.com/107.13.36.240)
- I meant to say she didnt beat Michelle in the other onstage CATEGORIES. But interview/onstage question, yeah, though Michelle's onstage question was good enough. (NT) -- No name, 21:39:11 02/16/26 Mon (syn-107-013-036-240.res.spectrum.com/107.13.36.240)
- It was well known in NC, that Michele's Miss America private interview was horrible. It's a testament to how much they loved her onstage that she got to 1st runner up. I heard that she stopped the judges in the midst of her interview and said she didn't want to talk about her platform any more. She was gorgeous and so talented, but interview definitely needed work (NT) -- No name, 23:51:31 02/16/26 Mon (155.sub-174-238-96.myvzw.com/174.238.96.155)
- Her interview is in YouTube along with Kate’s and others from that year. (NT) -- No name, 02:59:46 02/17/26 Tue (NoHost/172.56.66.17)
- She didn't stop them in interview and tell them she didn't want to talk about her platform anymore. Why don't you actually WATCH her interview instead of relying on gossip and rumors? And it wasn't "horrible". It wasn't great, it was mediocre. If it had been horrible, they wouldn't have even looked at her on stage. She was warm and engaging and friendly, even if she wasn't a current events queen like Shindle. But there is no denying that Shindle's interview was outstanding. Michelle was flawless on stage, however. She would have made a great Miss America too. She would have just been a different kind, more of the old-school Miss America. Even though she was not my choice, Kate was an excellent Miss America. (NT) -- No name, 11:28:24 02/17/26 Tue (syn-107-013-036-240.res.spectrum.com/107.13.36.240)
- I thought Michelle's onstage interview with Nancy Glass was actually quite good. I loved the statement she made when she said, " I feel I'm an expert in my field being the field is me." I don't know if she thought that up off the cuff or if she had it stored away in memory, but thought it was the perfect summary statement for her onstage interview. | A couple of 4th runner ups that I thought should have placed higher were Linnea Fayard in 1990, Missy Hurdle in 1991, Nancy Glisson in 1993 and Tiffany Storm in 1994. (NT) | No name (NoHost/148.59.75.51) | 16:23:34 01/21/26 Wed |

| I was most shocked hearing Emoly West from OK called as 4th ru. There was so much hype and buzz around her and many thought she was running away with the crown on finals. I do think Scanlan was the rightful winner that night (NT) | No name (NoHost/172.56.64.164) | 03:29:13 01/22/26 Thu |

| There are many 4RUs that I had as the winner.... to name only 5: Tiffany Storm (1995), Emoly West (2011), Noelle Freeman (2012), Lauren Kuhn (2015) and Margana Wood (2018). Glad to see many of them have been mentioned already. (NT) | Pageant Statistician (99-74-180-249.lightspeed.cicril.sbcglobal.net/99.74.180.249) | 08:35:59 01/22/26 Thu |

| She finished 3rd runner up, but Lexie Madden was my choice for 2013. I never saw Mallory coming between Lexie, Ali Rogers and Alicia Clifton. (NT) | No name (NoHost/159.100.209.51) | 16:07:50 01/22/26 Thu |

| Camille Lewis and Scarlotte Dupree. Scarotte may have had the worst voice ever to grace the Miss America stage. (NT) | Sonia (ool-182f1de3.dyn.optonline.net/24.47.29.227) | 18:18:30 01/22/26 Thu |

Sorry have to throw this in there ..In 2003 Everyone expected Marina Harrison to do better than 3rd. Hadnt heard such boos's since Nancy Glisson But im guessing it was Dunlap's dress that helped. However she also won talent that night so I guess maybe Marina was were she should have been..... Maybe 2 tho (NT) | No name (NoHost/169.156.15.204) | 11:40:38 01/23/26 Fri |
- In my opinion, the pageant was over when Dunlap walked out in that dress. The only time I've ever seen an evening gown win Miss America. I don't know who her stylist was, but whomever earned their paycheck. She was perfection. (NT) -- No name, 13:18:33 01/23/26 Fri (194.sub-174-238-105.myvzw.com/174.238.105.194)
Speaking of that .... She was the first Miss America to walk empty handed . I dont think the dress played a part in it but it was odd. (NT) -- No name, 13:25:18 01/23/26 Fri (NoHost/169.156.15.204)
- What made the dress so special? It was beautiful, yes, but I don't seee how it was as amazing as people make it out to be (NT) -- No name, 14:27:25 01/23/26 Fri (pool-72-74-53-82.bstnma.fios.verizon.net/72.74.53.82)
- I believe her stylist was her late pageant director, a female impersonator who performed as Carmella Marcella Garcia. The updo hairpiece and yellow gown made for a dynamic presentation in EG. (NT) -- No name, 17:18:08 01/23/26 Fri (c-73-206-250-152.hsd1.tx.comcast.net/73.206.250.152)

- For an organization that stood for community service, talent and scholastic achievement, Dunlap was about an inch deep. I never understood her win and saw her speak a few times during her year and always walked away shaking my head. There were so many other better choices, especially Marina Harrison. I just chalk that year up to bad judges. (NT) -- No name, 18:24:53 01/23/26 Fri (NoHost/159.100.209.51)
- Tara Holland's dress won Miss America in preliminary competition. When she walked out in that dress, everyone sitting it Boardwalk Hall KNEW she was going to be Miss America. And she had the other goods to back it up. But that dress was stellar. (NT) -- No name, 12:04:09 01/26/26 Mon (syn-107-013-036-240.res.spectrum.com/107.13.36.240)
- I think the judges wanted to crown Miss WI, the doctor, but she bombed the quiz, Osq and her talent wasn’t great that great during the telecast, plus I don’t think she wanted to win and that came through. Dunlap saw an opening and took it (NT) -- No name, 15:11:53 01/23/26 Fri (208.sub-174-202-161.myvzw.com/174.202.161.208)

| Patricia Lei Anderson, Miss Hawaii 1963, was the 4th r/u. Up to the on-stage questions, she seemed to be leading. Her poise was exceptional; she sang an outstanding version of Un bel Di. Then, Bert asked her What was the most difficult thing for you during the past two weeks. She said, To keep my composure.
