Subject: M3 finally running again, but not well.

The M is running particularly bad when it's cold. It's rich, I can smell the fuel, and there's carbon deposits being sprayed on the back (license plate is kinda polka-dotted). The tac stays pretty steady, but I can hear the engine pulsing ever so slightly. The throttle is very touchy and jerky.

I realize that they aren't "known to be smooth" but come on... this is worse then it was. I don't know how to troubleshoot it. The O2 is new, plugs/cap/rotor, just had to do the water pump AGAIN (BavAuto--- GRRR). I'm wondering if it's a vacuum leak? or ICV? What else could we be dealing with. I'm going to replace the chain tensioner soon, due to increasing occurence of rattle, and a suspected oil leak.

Barry? Any ideas? The ambient air temp is upto 65-85 now a days, so I don't think it's climate related.

Thanks
Beau
