Author: Serenity & Chellith (Meko, Tallu, Zeno, Kinko, Mento, Kitten)
Subject: Bored... bored... bored...

Serenity walked into the Lower Caverns calmly, followed by an almost-grown, small green dragon. Chellith had been spawned of Kylith, so she’d be an adult soon, though Serenity still wore the shoulder knots of an untrained rider. At the end of the lessons, which was to be soon, she’d get regular greenrider ones.

Following the girl was her own little fair of flits. Six in all, there were two bronzes, two browns, and a green zipping around her, while her little blue draped himself around her neck.

Meko was a very unusual flit, and seemed depressed almost all the time. That could be why Serenity’s oldest flit draped himself around her neck, chirping and burying his sapphire head in her hair.

Tallu and Kinko, the two browns, were pretty easily told apart, as Kinko was much bigger than his brown companion. The two browns were always engaged in a little game of ‘I can fly faster and do better stunts’, always trying to out fly the other.

The other three flits were the two bronzes and green. While Zeno was a nice-sized, well muscled bronze that any flit would envy (especially his little brother, Tallu), Mento was a different story entirely. One might think that, as he was the brother of bronze-sized Kinko, he would be large, but no. Mento was a very special flit. While his hide glimmered with an almost rusty appearance, making him a sure bronze, in size, he was rivaled by Meko. It was true; he was almost a blue-sized bronze. At the moment, the little one was chasing his ‘adoptive little sister’ around, and Kitten chirped her happiness as her emerald tail flicked in and out of the bronze’s reach.

Serenity selected a table away from some of the others, and her whole fair settled down around her. One might think that without a golden queen in her fair, the others would be in complete chaos, but, surprisingly, they acted more civil then than most gold-controlled fairs did.

Serenity gently lifted Meko from around her neck. “C’mon, baby.” She said, disregarding the fact that the flit must be nearing one turn old by now. “Let’s get you some food, shall we?”

Meko chirped his thanks, and settled in the crook of her arm, not bothering to get up on the table. Sighing, Serenity signaled to a drudge, who motioned to wait a minute. Well, she could do that.

Kitten gave a sharp hiss, and chased Zeno off the table, who in turn shrieked form the sudden attack from the lower-ranked flit. “Kitten!” Serenity said sternly, and was greeted with images of Mento being teased by the bigger bronze. Serenity sighed. “You know, Zeno, if you do that again, I’ll have to allow her to chase you from the Lower Caverns.” She said, taking the edge from her voice with a small smile.

Serenity would never truly get why the two browns and Zeno teased Mento so much, though she knew it had to do with his size. However, something even more perplexing was how Meko and Kitten, both from separate clutches than the rest (Kitten was actually Kinko’s daughter), had seemed to adopt Mento as their own brother, and had taken a special care to protect him from everyone and everything that they deemed threatening. Serenity could remember the one time Kitten had actually chased her own father out of the barracks, and then clear out of the Weyr once. And Serenity didn’t try and stop her. The three bigger ones had been screeching at Mento as if he’d been a convicted murderer, and the little one had been afraid. Kitten, puffing her chest out, had openly tried to attack them, and chased Kinko away when he screeched at her next.

Serenity sighed, and stroked the tiny bronze neck. Mento was very special to her. She was glad to have Kitten and Meko here to protect him

~ He is a sweet one. ~ Chellith agreed, crooning. The green had taken a special liking to Mento.

Don’t know what I’d do without him. Serenity smiled.

((Anyone wanna join in? I need someone to join the conversation... Serenity has been begging me to play her more...))
