Halzay sat calmly for a moment, brooding over her poor Elaini's behavior and stroking SLazay's silky locks as the baby slept in her lap. however, this peace was short lived when she heard the all too familiar voice ask permission to sit.

Halzay bit her lower lip to avoid tears. On top of worrying about Elaini, she felt reayd to cry with S'peer's uncanny ability to come as she was feeling the lowest.

"Sure." She whispered simply, her eyes downcast, much like a green in a bronze's presence. A small mumble escaped the baby's lips, and Halzay bent over her daughter and kissed her tanned forehead.

"Mommy?" She yawned sleepily. Halzay smiled motherly at her, the first time she'd smiled around S'peer.

"Shh, baby," she said, looking up and motioning for S'peer to sit. She turned her full attention back on the toddler. "It's me... you sleepy?"

"No.. no sleepy..." Salzay said, yawning. "Sawwy wake up now..."

"All right, baby. Just lay back, ok?" After making sure her daughter was lying comfortably, Halzay turned her attention reluctantly to S'peer. Her mouth was dry, and her mind was in several million places... including lost in the memory of when he'd raped her.

'Well, he's in full control of his mind now... right?'

She cleared her throat. "All right. I'm listening."
