L’van chuckled. “It would help! At least blues can’t go after queens…Arrth would have a fit!”

Arden and Taran walked next to each other, identical as always. But there were changes now in how they looked – Arden was more tanned, his hair a little longer than his brother’s. Taran was more supple now, from doing repairs around the Weyr that were considered too menial for the dragonriders.
“Cheer up Tan!”
“How can I?”
“You’ll Impress at the – ”
“– Next one. I know.”
Arden gave his brother a sympathetic glance. It had been a while since they had been able to meet up together, and Taran was upset. He hadn’t Impressed at the green clutch, and he was depressed about it. Pepper on his shoulder crooned softly, rubbing her head against his cheek.
“C’mon. You’ll be fine! It just means that the right dragon – ”
“ – Wasn’t there. That’s what everyone keeps staying.”
“What, like mum did every time something went wrong?”
“Just stay can and everything will be – ”
“ – Absolutely perfect!” They both said in unison, and chuckled.
Arden sighed. “We should stop this.”
“What?”
“Finishing – ”
“ – Each other’s sentences?”
“Tan, I’m serious. It’s not healthy!”
The other twin sighed. “I know. Hey…look over there!”
Arden sighted on L’van, S’kil, Dey and Cat. “Ye-es?”
“We should go and say hello!”
And with that Taran made his way over to the table, Arden alongside him. “Can we join you?” Arden asked, Rebel emerging from between to sit on one of his muscular shoulders. “We don’t know too many people here yet. I’m Arden…”
“…And I’m Taran. D’you mind us?”

((C'mon, boys...walkies! Be nice to the riders, now, Arden. Just 'cause you hate heights doesn't mean they're insane...))
