Salty chuckled. “It’s good to be included!” He told them happily. Things were working out quite well at this Weyr. Hopefully this new home would be better than the last one – he couldn’t see any alcoholics around, for starters.

Not that that meant there weren’t any. But Salty wasn’t averse to them at all – his father’s obsession had led him to try alcohol for a bit himself and decide it wasn’t too bad unless you had something better to do. Or a sister who would beat you out of your drunken stupor when she found you. At fifteen Salty was not as lightweight as might be expected. He seemed to have inherited his father’s tolerance.

“Umm…bread and soup?” He asked the server, realising his hunger. “And maybe some wherry? I haven’t eaten all day.” He explained with a rueful grin.

“Are you all candidates for the next clutch?”

((Hmm…he’s evolved into a binge drinker. Why do all my chars run away with themselves? I can’t keep them under control!))
