I found through my two mentoring experiences where consensual spanking was used on young adults, that at 18+ they can indeed appreciate and understand the rationale behind spanking. Which I guess is why when the accountability part of the mentoring process was discussed, they both agreed that spanking was the best. Both had been spanked at home before leaving for college and I think that had a big part to play. It was never something I asked them to submit to as a condition of being mentored, however. The other takeaway was that I now no longer see spanking as a "kid's punishment". which I always had thought it was up till then. Spanking is a tool. Nothing more, nothing less. Now, for someone like Elise in college who had never been spanked before for discipline, it would be interesting to see how it would pan-out. I have ran across many over the years like Elise, around that 18-21 age range, who were never spanked but were curious about it. I would assume in a disciplinary context, given forums like this.
