I think your experience is probably opposite from most NG converts ... many gain accuracy compared to CG but lose distance initially, sometimes permanently.

Any single-axis approach that stresses a more square-tracking clubface technique should make you straighter than CG if you are doing it correctly because it should increase your margin of error at impact. Do you hit shots that go wildly right or left with hook and slice spin, or are they just pushes and pulls?

Personally, about "feel," I really did not like the size of NG palm grips in my smallish hands. I felt they reduced feel a lot. I much prefer Winn midsize grips ... they have hardly any taper at the bottom, are soft, absorb shock very well and just feel good to me. I HATED chipping with the big grips, and chipping is all about feel if your technique is good.

There are many things that could be causing your frustration. Hard for anyone to tell you for sure without seeing you hit some balls. But the conversion from a rotational swing to a linear one is not as easy as some folks crack it up to be. I could not stick with pure NG and had to create a hybrid type swing, incorporating the parts of NG philosophy that worked for me, and toss the rest.

Good luck ...
