In the ultimate the above may be true, but not for most people. I think lots of people that frequent golf DG's don't realize the the average person has an extremely limited budget for golf. To me custom fit clubs are an extravagance that will yield that last 5-10% of results at most. For a beginning golfer the first 90% of results are much more important.

Save your money. Get a decent set of clubs. Once you are commited to golf as an avocation THEN spend the bucks it takes if you want to. Until then spend the extra money on PLAYING more golf, that's the surest way to improve...
