Born and raised in Chicago Illinois.

Joined the Marines in 1964, did a tour of Combat duty in Viet Nam from 65-66 as a Combat Engineer (and no we didn't study physics, just C4 explosives!) Was medivaced from the Nam in April of 66 after having my eardrums blown out!

Honorably discharged from the Marines as a Sergeant in 1968, joined the Chicago Police Dept three months later.

Promoted to Detective in 1977, worked 23 years in Robbery/Homicide, during that time did work as a Robery decoy, where I would go into high crime areas and act as a drunk (had plenty of off duty experience) and get mugged.

I have the distinction being the most prolific decoy in the history of the Chicago Police Dept. having been robbed over 500 times. I'm profiled in the book "What Cops Know" Ventana Press.

In addition to that I have a Master's Degree in Criminology from Lewis University 1981.

I was the President of the Chicago Police Detectives Association from 1997 till 2000.

There, that's the sot of human being you're dealing with, and from your response to my email, I would guess you have no sense of humor at all!
