Yes, I agree but: if things like running water or a nice, clean place to wash was important to people in the village, why wouldn't they use bamboo or some such to build it by now. After all, there are always people who have been in the towns, and see these things. So they can import the idea back to the village. Dig out a swimming hole or washing place to make it easy to wash. All kinds of small changes that could happen but people don't even do the first step. My question is why they don't.
