Subject: This forum has improved....but

In recent weeks this forum has actually improved. Most of the subject matter has been very good. Unfortunatly it only takes one bad apple to ruin the entire barrel. It is a shame that we had to witness some of the hate and discontent on here that we have recently, but that will happen in any open society.

It must be remembered by all that although this is a PNGuinean forum PNGuineans are not the only ones interested in seeing their country succeed. Therefore people from all over the world who have interest in PNG are watching and reading the postings here. These people have interest for many reasons. Some may have come here durning time of war, like the American vet who was treated so rudely, some were peace corps volunteers and I am sure there are many business people who have visited us who continue to keep a watchful eye on us hoping someday to return. All of these people, black, white, yellow, whatever have one thing in common. There is something mystical about PNG and it's people that keeps their attention. This is a good sign for hope for the future of PNG. The fact that we had the ability to attract the interest of this diverse group shows we have a certain human quality. They want to continue to hold this interest but that can be very hard to do when they suggest something and in return they get insults and called names.

Somewhere out there in, within this group of intelligent people from PNG and the rest of the world, are the solutions that will make PNG prosper in the future. Let's try not to discourage this input by name calling and insults. There is absolutly nothing to be gained by that except the continued alienation of more well meaning people.
