Thanks to you and others here for giving some explanation, first time I've heeard this story completely. I appreciate everyone taking the time to explain. In the past it has just been 2 or 3 sentence accusations and smart remarks with no indication of trying to go any deeper.

I am willing to accept what you have said about his person, and happy he is that way and that kind of person. Also the explanation about KSI and how it wasset up. I am also happy that Tony Smare has said no to going back to PNG and running for office. When you contest an election, most people do not get to know the candidate personally just like on the internet. I don't think Mr Smare understands this, because your explanations of how people like me could have found out about this issue isn't very doable. We can't just go through archives and find explaantions plus new people are always coming on the internet. I could have e-mailed Tony Smare, but how many of us far away know what kind of person he is and whether he is someone who should be e-mailed? I would try not to make myself known too well to a crook and how do I or others in the far flung student community know these things. It's not that much different from back home, a candidate cannot visit every house and spend hours talking to each family. The way that Mr Smare addressed this issue over the past year has said something about an inability to do whats necessary to communicate properly. The KSI web site could have been amended, or an explanation web page put up to answer the questions when they first came up. That way, all later questions could be directed to that web site. If Mr Smare did not know how to communicate on the internet, he may have also failed to communicate effectively back home, running for election. I think he made a wise decision not to do so, he knows himself and his limitations better than many of this friends.

I read those letters to the editors of our neewspapers all the time complaining that they haven't heard from their MP for ages. That kind of thing brings down elected officials, and what happened with insufficient communication regarding KSI and how it has affected peoples knowledge and opinions around the world is some indication of what might have happened to Tony Smare had he contested and won.

I'm glad that you have clarified for a wider internet audience and thank you very much for being more consicentious of the need to communicate. If you could please communicate to KSI people that either they should say nothing at all on the internet about their activities or they should realise that when they promote themselves to a big audience, they will be held accountable to perform, whether or not all those students overseas are members. That happens automatically,there is no 2 ways about it, and they would save everyone a lot of trouble and stop a lot of rumours if they (including Mr Smare) would be more transparent in the future.
